What You'll Be Doing

The Business Analyst will work as a member of Stifel's Analyst team within the Executive organization.  The Business Analyst will work at the intersection of business and technology to engage with senior leadership, business units, and product management to identify, document, and articulate business needs for strategic initiatives.  This position is expected to work well with others towards a common desired outcome.

What We're Looking For

• Collaborate with project sponsors to create business case, determine project scope and vision, and define requirements and functionality• Conduct interviews to gather requirements via workshops, questionnaires, surveys, site visits, workflow storyboards, use cases, scenarios, and other methods.• Work with UX team to create process models, specifications, diagrams, and charts to provide information and direction for architecture and development teams• Work closely with third party partners in the identification of best-of-breed products and services to understand how their technology incorporates and best supports the requirements of the firm and business areas• Socialize business cases to build awareness of strategic initiatives and determine impact across the firm• Develop KPIs and success metrics to facilitate creation of ongoing reporting for business area and management purposes• Interview, investigate, and communicate with internal stakeholders to determine what is and is not working. Take ownership, prioritize appropriately, and propose business and technical solutions to solve issues.

• Clearly communicates in verbal and written forms potentially complex issues or concepts.• Ability to get up to speed quickly, identify patterns, trends, and gaps on any given topic or situation.• Excellent analytical, listening, and creative problem-solving skills• Strong interpersonal skills and ability to build strong and trusting relationships• Passionate learner of new concepts and willing to tackle uncertainty with enthusiasm.• Experience working in a team-oriented, collaborative environment• The ability to recognize when meaningful action is required and assume the additional responsibility needed to tackle the challenge at hand.

Education & Experience

  • Minimum Required: Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Business Administration or equivalent work experience
  • Minimum Required: 1-3 years' of investment, financial or technical experience

Licenses & Credentials

  • Minimum Required: None

Systems & Technology

•  Proficient in Microsoft Outlook and Microsoft Office Suite•  Proficient in advanced Microsoft Excel functions and data analysis•  Experience writing database queries and extracting meaningful insights from large datasets•  Experience with Power BI for data visualization and business intelligence reporting•  Python knowledge is a plus•  Experience with office productivity, reporting, and technical documentation software
