What You'll Be Doing

The Business Analyst will engage with business units, product management, and other peers to analyze, document, and understand business processes and procedures as well as support discovery or solutions for firm driven initiatives and developments. The Business Analyst II will gather, validate, and translate requirements into design and development specifications while providing product management. They will review, modify, and recommend database and system applications requirements.

  • Develop an understanding of the Stifel business & data models, and use that knowledge to optimize the relationship between the company and the customer
  • Proactively identify and recommend process and practice improvement within the team
  • Maintain strong communication with stakeholders, product management, and peers following up as needed to provide transparency
  • Gain and utilize a strong understanding of company applications and business practices in the context of how they affect the firm's business practices
  • Aggregates and performs statistical analysis on business data based on requests from project teams or senior leadership.
  • Integrates data from multiple data sources or functional areas, ensures data accuracy and integrity, and updates data as needed.
  • Writes queries or reports to provide data for various analytical projects.
  • Interprets data to identify business trends, conduct root cause analysis of business problems, or suggest areas for process improvement.
  • Assesses current practices, collects information and analyzes industry trends to determine organizational objectives.
  • Make recommendations and improves system by studying the products.

What You'll Bring

  • Solid understanding of financial industry terminology and concepts
  • Ability to take a problem and research it from beginning to end creating detailed documentation
  • Strong analytical skills focused on using logic and reasoning to identify complex relationships as well as to research and discuss recommended uses
  • Leverage these skills to grow abilities in developing normalized data sets for enterprise wide business intelligence purposes
  • Can define a complete and accurate test plan by identifying testing conditions, use cases, exception basis, testing resources, and script execution timeframes

Education & Experience

  • Minimum Required: Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Business Administration or equivalent work experience
  • Minimum Required: 3-5 years of investment, financial or technical experience

Licenses & Credentials

  • Minimum Required: None

Systems & Technology

  • Proficient in Microsoft Outlook and Microsoft Office Suite
  • Experience with ticketing systems
  • Experience with office productivity, reporting, and technical documentation software
  • Exposure to systems monitoring tools and logging tools
  • Understands client/server computing architecture, user interfaces and application programing interfaces
