Job Summary

The Cafeteria Worker supports the mission and values of [School Name], a Catholic educational community, by providing nutritious and appealing meals in a clean, safe, and welcoming environment. This position assists in food preparation, serving, cleanup, and maintaining compliance with health, safety, and diocesan food service standards.

Job Responsibilities

Prepare, cook, and serve meals according to planned menus and portion guidelines.
Assist in setting up and breaking down serving lines and dining areas.
Ensure proper food handling, storage, and sanitation in compliance with local health regulations.
Wash dishes, utensils, and kitchen equipment as needed.
Maintain cleanliness and order in kitchen, dining, and storage areas.
Monitor food and supply inventory and notify the Cafeteria Manager of shortages.
Assist with receiving and storing food deliveries.
Follow established safety and emergency procedures.
Interact respectfully and courteously with students, staff, and visitors, reflecting the Catholic values and mission of the school.
Support a positive dining atmosphere that encourages good manners, responsibility, and community.
Participate in staff meetings and required training sessions.

Job Requirements

High school diploma or equivalent (preferred).
Prior experience in food service or cafeteria work (preferred).
Knowledge of basic food preparation, sanitation, and safety practices.
Ability to lift up to 40 lbs and stand for extended periods.
Good communication and teamwork skills.
Commitment to the values and mission of Catholic education.
