The Boeing Company is looking for an F-22 Associate Software Release Train Engineer (RTE) to join the F-22 Mission Software team located in Berkeley, MO.  This position will focus on supporting the Boeing Defense, Space & Security (BDS) business organization.

The F-22 Software Release Train Engineer (RTE) will lead an agile organization to implement software capabilities as defined by our Modernization Roadmap. Additionally, the F-22 program is transforming its contracting and development approach to leverage software development tools, processes, and best practices creating growth and leadership opportunities.

The RTE will be a servant leader and coach who oversees and optimizes the flow of value through an F-22 Agile Release Train (ART) using various tools including JIRA. The RTE will facilitate workshops as needed, will escalate impediments, manage risk, help ensure value delivery, and drive relentless improvement. They will also coach leaders and teams in new processes and mindsets. The RTE will help sustain and relentlessly improve the Agile execution in accordance with F-22 team needs as well as standardized and document practices.

The RTE must have a solid grasp of how to scale Lean and Agile practices, and understand the unique opportunities and challenges associated with facilitating and continuously aligning a large ART supporting multiple contracts.

Position Responsibilities:

  • Coaches’ leaders and teams in Lean-Agile practices and mindsets

  • Drives relentless improvement and assess the agility level of the ART and help them improve

  • Fosters preparation of Vision, Objectives and Program Backlogs

  • Ensures backlogs are managed in accordance with defined standards

  • Tracks the execution of features and capabilities

  • Facilitates roadmap development

  • Supports inter- and intra-team dependency mapping

  • Prepares for and facilitates Program Increment (PI) Planning and overall management of the Program Increment

  • Communicates iteration and PI calendar

  • Supports the effective execution of Agile ceremonies

  • Encourages cross-functional collaboration across ARTs in Training Systems and supporting organizations

  • Facilitates synchronization events, including the ART syncs, communities of practice and Product Owner/Scrum Master Sync

  • Works with Product Management, Product Owners, Scrum Masters and other stakeholders to help ensure strategy and execution alignment

  • Help manage risks and dependencies

  • Escalate and track impediments

  • Ensure standards are established and followed

  • Monitor and improve metrics for the ART

  • Manage and optimize the flow of the ART

Basic Qualifications (Required Skills/ Experience):

  • Bachelor’s Degree in an engineering discipline or 10 years equivalent related experience

  • 2+ years of experience with Scaled Agile Framework or Agile Methodologies

  • 2+ years of experience with Agile delivery and metrics

  • 1+ years of experience in a leadership role

Preferred Qualifications (Desired Skills/Experience):

  • Familiarity or experience with the F-22 program

  • Agile/SAFe training and/or certification, for example:

    • SAFe Program Consultant (SPC)

    • SAFe Release Train Engineer Certification (RTE)

    • SAFe Scrum Master (SSM)

    • Project Management Institute- Agile Certified Practitioner (PMI-ACP)

  • Familiarity with JIRA

  • Critical thinking skills

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills

Summary pay range for Associate: $94,350.00 - $127,650.00.
