Additional Information About the Role

Missouri Baptist Hospital is seeking a Lead Heathcare Information Specialist to join our team!

This individual will be prepping, scanning, staff training and support, quality control, chart pick up, and assisting nursing with chart corrections.

 

They will also cover Barnes St. Peters during PTO or staff absences.  

Schedule: M-F starting at 7:30 AM

Role Purpose

The Lead Health Information Management (HIM) Specialist provides day-to-day guidance to the HIM team on departmental processes and applications. This position delegates tasks to team members and ensures that there is adequate coverage to meet the needs of the customers and patients being served. This position also ensures that HIM team members are properly oriented and trained on HIM policies and guidelines.

 

Responsibilities

  • Coordinates assignments for HIM staff through monitoring of work load and priorities; assembles work plans that achieve department requirements and priorities; reorganizes workflow as required.
  • Reviews, analyzes and maintains data integrity of the official record of care (medical record) and relevant applications, via coordination and participation in training and auditing of HIM staff; focuses on areas where additional training is required and interacts with staff to promote an environment of continuous improvement.
  • Monitors production and accuracy; utilizing data, identifies areas for improvement and interacts timely with department leadership.
  • Effectively communicates, interacts and partners with hospital departments and external customers.
  • Performs HIM technical support functions as required.
