Lead Project Engineer

Boeing Defense Space & Security (BDS) is seeking a highly organized and proactive Lead Project Engineer on the F-15 International Systems Engineering, Integration, and Test (SEIT) team. This role will serve as a critical link between the Program Manager and the SEIT team, acting as a deputy program manager to ensure seamless project execution. The Project Engineer will collaborate closely with systems engineers and other stakeholders to support program objectives, manage schedules, coordinate resources, and drive project deliverables to successful completion. Leadership will be critical for this role in tracking performance metrics, implementing corrective actions, and driving continuous improvement throughout the program lifecycle. Position Responsibilities:

  • Act as the primary liaison between the Program Manager and the SEIT team, translating program goals into actionable project plans.

  • Develop, maintain, and track project schedules, budgets, and resource allocations to ensure timely delivery of program milestones.

  • Coordinate cross-functional activities within the SEIT team and with external partners to facilitate integration and testing efforts.

  • Identifies and maintains day-to-day oversight of cost, schedule, and performance metrics and reporting to leadership

  • Monitor project risks and issues, proactively identifying mitigation strategies and escalating as necessary.

  • Prepare and present regular status reports, briefings, and documentation to program leadership and stakeholders.

  • Support configuration management, change control processes, and compliance with program requirements.

  • Facilitate communication and collaboration across technical and management teams to align project objectives.

  • Assist in the preparation and review of program documentation, including plans, proposals, and technical reports.

  • Maintains working-level customer relationships on the effort

This position is expected to be 100% onsite. The selected candidate will be required to work onsite at Berkeley, MO.

Travel may be required up to 10% of the time; Domestically and/or internationally depending on business needs.

This position requires the ability to obtain a U.S. Security Clearance for which the U.S. Government requires U.S. Citizenship. An interim/Final U.S. Secret Clearance Post-Start is required.

Basic Qualifications (Required Skill/Experience): 

  • Bachelor of Science degree in Engineering, Engineering Technology (including Manufacturing Technology), Computer Science, Data Science, Mathematics, Physics, Chemistry or non-US equivalent qualifications directly related to the work statement

  • 9 or more years' related work experience or an equivalent combination of technical education and experience

Preferred Qualifications (Desired Skills/Experience): 

  • Experience supporting program management functions and acting as a deputy or lead project engineer.

  • Proven experience in project or program engineering roles within aerospace, defense, or related industries

  • Familiarity with aerospace systems development lifecycle and regulatory requirements.

  • Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.

  • Strong understanding of systems engineering principles, integration, and test processes.

  • Demonstrated ability to manage multiple priorities and work effectively in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.

  • Excellent organizational, communication, and interpersonal skills.

  • Proficiency with project management tools and software.
