Position Summary

The Maintenance Technician is responsible for maintaining the overall condition, safety, and functionality of the hotel property. This role supports daily hotel operations by completing preventative maintenance, responding to guest and staff maintenance requests, and ensuring all guest rooms, public areas, and equipment are operating properly. The ideal candidate is dependable, hands-on, and able to work independently in a fast-paced hospitality environment.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities

  • Perform routine maintenance and repairs in guest rooms, public areas, and back-of-house spaces 
  • Troubleshoot and repair HVAC systems, plumbing, electrical fixtures, appliances, and general equipment 
  • Respond promptly to maintenance requests from guests and hotel staff 
  • Complete preventative maintenance programs and inspections on a scheduled basis 
  • Maintain cleanliness and organization of maintenance areas, tools, and equipment 
  • Assist with painting, drywall repair, flooring, carpentry, and minor renovations as needed 
  • Ensure all work complies with hotel standards and safety regulations 
  • Monitor property for safety hazards and report major repair needs immediately 
  • Assist with exterior upkeep including grounds, parking lot, lighting, and trash areas 
  • Support emergency situations and after-hours maintenance needs when necessary 
  • Maintain proper inventory of maintenance supplies and materials 
  • Work collaboratively with housekeeping and front desk teams to ensure guest satisfaction 

Qualifications

  • Previous hotel maintenance experience preferred 
  • Basic knowledge of HVAC, plumbing, electrical, and general building maintenance 
  • Ability to use hand and power tools safely and effectively 
  • Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills 
  • Ability to prioritize tasks and work independently 
  • Good communication and customer service skills 
  • Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds and stand/walk for extended periods 
  • Flexible schedule including weekends, holidays, and occasional on-call shifts 

Physical Requirements

  • Frequent standing, walking, bending, climbing, and lifting 
  • Ability to work indoors and outdoors in varying weather conditions 
  • Ability to safely operate maintenance equipment and ladders 

Work Environment

This position operates in a hotel environment with regular interaction with guests, staff, vendors, and contractors. Professional appearance and conduct are expected at all times.
