New Grad RN – Nurse Residency Program (Med Surg 5E) | Night Shift

Mercy Hospital South – St. Louis, MO

📍 Location: Mercy Hospital South — 10010 Kennerly Rd, St. Louis, MO 63128

🕒 Schedule: Full-Time | 36 hours/week

🌙 Shift: Night Shift | 7:00 PM – 7:30 AM

💰 Sign-On Bonus

• New Graduate Nurses: Up to $5,000
• Experienced Nurses: Up to $10,000

🏥 About Med Surg 5E

Med Surg 5E cares for adult medical patients with a wide variety of diagnoses including:

• Small bowel obstructions
• Respiratory infections
• Pneumonia
• Cellulitis
• Diverticulitis

This unit offers an ideal learning environment for new graduate nurses to:

🩺 Position Overview

The Registered Nurse (RN) utilizes the nursing process to deliver compassionate, high-quality patient care while maintaining professional accountability for assigned patients.

Responsibilities include:

• Coordinating patient care with interdisciplinary teams
• Evaluating effectiveness of care delivery
• Advocating for patient safety and rights
• Maintaining confidentiality and professional standards
• Delivering care aligned with Mercy’s mission and service values

✅ Qualifications

Education

Graduate of an accredited school of nursing:

• Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN)
• Nursing Diploma
• Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN)

Licensure

• Active Missouri RN license or compact license (required)

Certification

• Basic Life Support (BLS) through American Heart Association
  (may be obtained within 30 days of hire)

⭐ Preferred Qualifications

• BSN preferred
• Prior healthcare or clinical experience welcomed but not required for new graduates
• Interest in medical-surgical nursing and professional growth

💪 Physical Requirements

• Lift, push, or pull up to 50 lbs
• Prolonged standing and walking
• Ability to bend, reach, kneel, twist, and squat as required for patient care
