Missouri Baptist Medical Center is seeking a Full-time OB Hospitalist to join our well established team based at Missouri Baptist Medical Center located in St. Louis, Missouri.

 

U.S. News & World Report has named Missouri Baptist Medical Center as 2026 High Performing hospitals for Maternity Care—the highest award a hospital can earn as part of its Best Hospitals for Maternity Care annual study. In addition Missouri Baptist is the only hospital in St. Louis County named a Magnet hospital by the American Nurses Credentialing Center (ANCC).

Practice Overview:

  • Practice limited to inpatient obstetrical care, admitting and triaging patients
  • Includes antepartum, labor and post-partum care of hospital patients
  • Rotating schedule to include weekends, weekdays, nights and holidays
  • One 12-hour shift a week plus One 24-hour shift per week   
  • Obstetrics only

Overview

 

Missouri Baptist Medical Center, an acute care hospital in St. Louis County, offers a full continuum of medical and surgical services, including heart care, cancer, women and infants, breast health, gastrointestinal, orthopedic, stroke, therapy, wound and pain management services. The hospital has a 24-hour adult emergency department and cares for pediatric patients at a separate emergency department in collaboration with St. Louis Children’s Hospital. 

 

Missouri Baptist is the first and only hospital in St. Louis County to be named a Magnet® hospital by the American Nurses Credentialing Center (ANCC). The prestigious designation is the highest credential a health care organization can receive for nursing excellence and quality patient care. Role Purpose

Ensures optimal care and promotes safety of patients admitted to assigned service in cooperation with the private attending staff and nursing staff. Communicates with staff, patients, and families.

 

Responsibilities

  • Manages the medical care of assigned patients.
  • Collaborates with patients, families, and members of the health care team to ensure excellent clinical outcomes.
  • Performs and documents histories and physicals in the patient's medical record as required by hospital by-laws.
  • Supervises and instructs medical students and residents assigned to service. Assists in the learning needs of residents and students as assessed.
