Description

Our client is seeking a Payroll Specialist to play a key role in ensuring accurate and timely payroll processing for a growing, multi-state organization. This position partners closely with managers, employees, and leadership teams to support payroll operations, maintain compliance, and resolve payroll-related issues with a high level of professionalism and attention to detail. The ideal candidate is analytical, adaptable, and process-oriented, with the ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment while contributing to ongoing improvements in payroll processes and systems. 


Key Responsibilities

  • Verify and process employee timecards and payroll submissions
  • Review payroll data for accuracy and reconcile discrepancies
  • Respond to employee payroll questions and concerns in a timely manner
  • Calculate payable hours, commissions, bonuses, taxes, and deductions
  • Maintain and update payroll records and documentation
  • Prepare recurring payroll reports and related analysis
  • Research and resolve state and local payroll tax issues
  • Assist with setup of unemployment and withholding accounts in new states
  • Support process improvements and adapt to evolving payroll procedures

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in HR, Business, Accounting, or related field
  • Experience with multi-state, multi-entity payroll preferred
  • Knowledge of payroll taxes preferred
  • CPP or FPC certification preferred
  • Strong analytical, mathematical, and problem-solving skills
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities
  • Strong numerical reasoning and attention to detail
  • Experience with payroll systems; Paycor experience preferred
  • Self-driven, adaptable, and able to thrive in a fast-paced environment
