I. BASIC FUNCTION:
Assists the Pharmacist to provide medications to patients based on clinicians’ orders and prescriptions. AccomplishesÂ
this by following department policies and procedures within the scope of departmental standards.Â

III. PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES:
1. Develops a current knowledge of departmental policies and procedures and supports them.
2. Assists Pharmacist(s) on Duty. All technical and non-technical duties are under the direct supervision of aÂ
registered Pharmacist. Pharmacist on Duty checks prescriptions before dispensing to patients.
3. Restocks the pharmacy shelves with supplies, drugs, etc. as needed.
4. Informs Pharmacist and Leach Pharmacy Technician about out of stock or low inventory.
5. Completes all procedures to including filing new patient prescriptions, refilling prescriptions, maintainingÂ
stock, filing requisitions, processing delivery requests, and any other duties relating to patient services.
6. Processes adjustments on discontinued and discharged medications returned to the pharmacy.
7. Knows abbreviations for interpreting prescriptions for computer entry and quantity calculations.
8. Completes prescription data entries.
9. Prepackages high volume items as indicated by the Pharmacist.
10. Aids in training of other pharmacy personnel on patient policies and procedures.
11. Oversees point of sale and balance/approve daily receipts.
12. Performs other tasks or projects as assigned.
IV. PERIODIC DUTIES:
1. Participates in Center staff problem solving groups.
2. Performs annual inventory.
3. Performs expired medication checks.
4. Performs other duties as assigned.
V. WORKING RELATIONSHIPS:
Inside Center: All inclusive.
Outside Center: Clients, community organizations and agencies.

VI. QUALIFICATIONS:
1. H.S. diploma or G.E.D. equivalent required.
2. Registered as a licensed pharmacy technician in the State of Missouri.
3. General pharmacy knowledge with a minimum of one (1) year pharmacy experience preferred.
4. Possess basic math knowledge and be proficient in reading/writing.
VII. CONTINUING EDUCATION:
As required by Missouri Board of Pharmacy.
As required by the Chief Pharmacy Officer.
Annual training on Medicare Fraud, Waste and Abuse.
VIII. CONFIDENTIALITY:
