Job DetailsJob Location: F15 TDAS ST LOUIS - Berkeley, MO 63134Position Type: Full TimeEducation Level: College Degree or EquivalentTravel Percentage: As RequiredJob Shift: AnyPosition Description: Applies advanced aircrew training device knowledge and experi­ence during the installation and maintenance of the F-16 ATD.  Must be capable of solving unusually complex system problems--those that typically are not able to be solved solely by reference to maintenance manuals or similar docu­ments.  Must be willing to travel in support of ATD installations at various locations, including potential overseas locations.       Essential Duties and Responsibilities include, but are not limited to the following:   Must be qualified, trained, and knowledgeable in the operation and maintenance of the F-16 Aircrew Training Device and peripheral equipment. Applies comprehensive technical knowl­edge to solve complex problems, those typi­cally solved by properly interpr­eting mainte­nance manuals or similar documents Supports the development of ATD installation plans and documents. Supports the preparation, movement, shipping, uncrating, and installation of ATDs. Conducts ATD set-up and operational testing activities Conducts quality control inspections and inspect maintenance work performed. Maintains required documentation of installation and maintenance activities. Monitors and tracks the repair status of inoperative equipment and document maintenance activities utilizing the logistics management data base system.  Documents maintenance activities including work order generation, updates, and completing post installation or repair action documentation Supports material control issuing, returning, and inventory adjustments, insuring inventory records are up to date and accurate, and other material control duties as assigned). Works with Engineering in regards to non-standard situations. Uses knowledge of simulator and aircraft systems to interpret advanced technical data. Interprets and works with computer systems utilizing various and multiple operating systems. Willing to accept lead responsibilities for planning, movement, regeneration of ATDs as remote locations. Conduct scheduled preventative maintenance and unscheduled maintenance actions Diagnoses malfunctions of computers and associated equipment, and performs operability/readi­ness tests and repair. Performs systems interface/fault isolation. Applies fundamental troubles­hooting procedures in the maintenance of interfaces and peripheral equipment used with computers. Interprets mechanical, hydraulic, elec­trical and electronic schematics and drawings and makes simplified versions. Monitors and tracks the repair status of inoperative equipment and document maintenance activities utilizing the Electronic Data Management System (EDMS). Conduct inventory inspections, update and record stock levels, and report the status, excess inventory, and obsolescence issues Monitor and report failure-prone or obsolete parts in-accordance-with program processes. Maintain inventory of incoming parts/supplies and verify receipt of items on requisition or invoice. Receives, stores, and issue equipment, parts, or supplies, and maintains inventory. Stores parts/supplies, package & ship items to requesting activities. Utilize program EDMS to support inventory levels, off-site repairs, transactions, and calibration requirements. Mark applicable incoming parts (IUID or Tags). Maintains good relations with customers and ensures information flows within technical organization. Ensure compliance with health, safety, security, and local base procedures. ·Implements basic modifications to existing simulators. Performs other duties as assigned.   Education and/or Experience Technical College Degree with five (5) years’ experience in maintenance, troubleshooting, repair and operation of full flight simulators, or seven (7) years’ experience with no degree. Aircraft maintenance work experience within an Aerospace Repair shop environment and an Airframe & Propulsion license (highly desired). Knowledge of commonly-used concepts, practices, and procedures within the Simulator Technician field Related skill areas should include technical writing and presentation skills.   Supervisory Responsibilities None   Security Responsibilities Compliance with all company Information Systems security policies and procedures.  Personally responsible for proper classification and marking of all information and materials, in any form, produced by the incumbent. Shall be assigned specific responsibility for Information Security by immediate supervisor or department management. Must possess advanced skills necessary to diagnose and isolate mal­functions in electronic systems; align, adjust and calibrate installed training devices; interpret mechanical, hydraulic, electrical and electronic schema­tics and prepare simplified versions. Must possess advanced skills to perform calibrations, adjust­ments and tests on elec­tronic equipment; analyze operation, verify discre­pancies, isolate malfunctions and replace defective components used in installed devices Must possess and maintain advanced proficiency in the use of diagnostic programs, interpretation of results, and the use of program listings to isolate faults and be adept in the use of test equip­ment, repair of micro/­miniature printed circuit boards, electro/mechanical systems and devices to include projection display systems, computer controlled motion and electronic control loading systems and computer generated sound systems. Must be highly proficient in the use of diag­nostic programs, interpre­tation of results and use of program listings to isolate faults. Must be skilled at use and operation of test equipment, including “O” scopes, frequency counters, volt/ohm meters and range calibration set. Must be able to perform routine preventive maintenance using maintenance requirement cards and instructional manuals; perform daily system readiness test, pre-operational and post-operational checkouts. Must exhibit high performance and capability to work in a team environment Must be able to work independently, with minimal supervision Must be able to drive a forklift, man-lift, K-loader, or other material handling support equipment as required if trained and certified to operate. Strong communication and interpersonal skills are required Must be proficient in Microsoft Excel, PowerPoint, and Word Must be able to effectively deliver oral presentations to management and customers Must be able to work overtime as required. Must be willing to work any shift or day of the week as required. Must be eligible for DoD Personnel Security Clearance.   Language Skills Must have the ability to read, analyze, and interpret the most complex word and technical documents/diagrams.   Will be required to respond effectively to sensitive inquiries and complaints.  Must be able to generate effective oral and written presentations and proposals on complex subjects.    Mathematical Skills Must be able to calculate figures and amounts, prices, commissions, and percentages, and to draw and interpret graphs.   Reasoning Ability Must be able to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions.  An ability to interpret complex customer requirements and attitudes from verbal, non-verbal, and written communication is desirable.    Ability to read and understand electrical schematics and drawings.     Certificates, Licenses, Registrations N/A   Physical Demands The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.   Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions.       Must be able to lift at least 40 pounds over head. ATD operational floor and back-shop work environment. Will be working in areas with risk of electrical shock from moving mechanical parts driven by hydraulics under high pressure.
