Job Summary

The BIM Specialist supports Introba’s Medical Equipment Planning project teams by providing project-level BIM support, coordination, and production expertise related to the planning process. This role focuses on model setup, quality control, equipment placement, coordination, and standards compliance for assigned projects.

The BIM Specialist works closely with MEQ planners, engineers, project managers, and digital leadership to ensure accurate, coordinated, and efficient BIM deliverables. While not responsible for firmwide BIM strategy or discipline-wide leadership, the BIM Specialist contributes to workflow improvement, tool testing, and project feedback.

Responsibilities & Qualifications

Duties and Responsibilities:

You will be responsible for your time management and meeting agreed deadlines set by the team. You will also be accountable for the self-development of your career and actively learning from others, taking advantage of formal training and development, applying relevant academic or industry knowledge, and asking for help when needed. In addition to the duties outlined below, additional responsibilities may be assigned as needed.

Planning:

  • Support BIM execution on assigned healthcare projects with a focus on medical equipment modeling and coordination.

  • Assist with project model setup, templates, and workflows aligned with BIM standards.

  • Perform model production tasks including equipment placement and documentation support.

  • Coordinate equipment models with architectural, engineering, and consultant models.

  • Participate in BIM meetings and coordination sessions.

  • Support development of project BIM Execution Plans.

  • Maintain model accuracy and organization.

  • Perform model reviews for equipment placement and coordination.

  • Ensure compliance with BIM standards and QA/QC processes.

  • Assist with managing model performance and file structure.

  • Communicate model risks or issues to project teams.

  • Work collaboratively with MEQ planners, project managers and design team.

  • Assist external consultants with model setup and coordination.

  • Provide BIM guidance to project team members.

Construction Administration:

  • Coordinate with planner for the response to RFI inquiries from design team, architect, contractor and client.

  • Update drawings as needed per planner and project manager direction to support on-going project efforts.

Procurement and Installation:

  • Support to review medical equipment drawings to identify procurement related conflict items such as refrigerator door swings and equipment changes

Additional BIM Responsibilities:

  • Provide feedback on workflows and tools.

  • Assist with testing new BIM tools or workflows.

  • Participate in BIM initiatives or pilots.

  • Assist with BIM scheduling and deliverable coordination.

  • Communicate BIM workload needs to leadership.

  • Provide limited BIM input for proposals when requested.

  • Support internal knowledge-sharing sessions.

Travel:

  • Travels to project sites to support responsibilities as needed.

Professional Development:

  • Maintains a working knowledge of BIM software, digital tools, and industry developments.

  • Develop knowledge of healthcare industry best practices and medical equipment planning.

  • Identifies lessons learned from current projects to implement on ongoing and future projects.

Qualifications:

  • Working knowledge of building design and construction processes.  Healthcare project experience preferred.

  • Technical expertise with Revit, AutoCAD, Bluebeam; Navisworks experience preferred.

  • Proficient in Microsoft Office, particularly Outlook, Word, and Excel.

  • Demonstrated ability to support and collaborate with project teams.

  • Experienced BIM model manager across varying project sizes and complexities.

  • Strong communication, problem-solving, and conflict-resolution skills.

  • University Degree, Diploma, or equivalent in Architecture, Engineering, or related field (preferred).

  • Minimum 3-5 years of experience in BIM coordination, modeling, or digital project delivery roles within the AEC industry.
