The Boeing Company is looking for a DevSecOps & Environment Lead Engineer to join the Air Proprietary 2 Mission Systems team located in Berkeley, MO. This position will focus on supporting the Boeing Defense, Space & Security (BDS) business organization.

The Boeing Company is currently seeking a Senior Software Engineer–DevSecOps to support our Air Proprietary 2 Mission Systems team located in Berkeley, Missouri. This position will focus on supporting the Boeing Defense, Space & Security (BDS) Software Engineering organization.

The Mission Systems DevSecOps & Environment Lead Engineer will be responsible for establishing configuring and maintaining Mission Systems (MS) software development environment. The lead will be the primary DevSecOps point of contact for Mission Systems. This leadership role will be responsible for all Mission Systems software development environments across a variety of security levels in addition to the software development environment roadmap and vision. This lead will ensure compliance and policy enforcement based on software design practices. This role will also coordinate with the Digital Engineering Environment team.

Position Responsibilities:

  • Develop and maintain the software development environment roadmap and vision
  • Establish, configure and maintain the software development environments across all development networks, which includes any tools required for developing, building, and releasing software
  • Oversees software tool development, infrastructure implementation and maintenance and security compliance
  • Ensures compliance and policy enforcement for applicable design practices and industry standards
  • Will be responsible for coordinating across the Mission Systems solution team, the Digital Engineering Environment team and likely the Boeing Software Factory Enterprise team.

Basic Qualifications (Required Skills/ Experience):

  • 7+ years’ experience with C, C++, C#, Java, Python or Ada
  • 5+ years of experience in DevOps practices
  • 5+ years of experience understanding of CI/CD tools (e.g., Gitlab, Jenkins) and practices, automation frameworks, and infrastructure as code (IaC).
  • 3+ years of experience with developing software using Docker or Kubernetes for container based applications

Preferred Qualifications (Desired Skills/Experience):

  • Bachelor of Science degree from an accredited course of study in engineering, engineering technology (includes manufacturing engineering technology), chemistry, physics, mathematics, data science, or computer science
  • Experience with cloud platforms
  • Experience in automated provisioning and configuring of software-defined infrastructure and designing for continuous deployment and continuous operations
  • Experience with Agile software development and related processes
  • Knowledge of industry standards and best practices in the area DevSecOps
  • Knowledge of cybersecurity policies and regulations, ability to work across these areas to formulate solutions
  • Experience with secure software development environments at various levels of security
  • Experience with Linux
  • Ability to obtain Security+ certification

Summary pay range for Senior Level (Level 4): $132,600 – $179,400
