What You’ll Do: Set up and operate multi-axis CNC lathes and CNC mills Prioritize, plan, and prepare work while establishing the appropriate sequence of machining operations Read and interpret blueprints, job orders, and specifications to determine dimensions, tolerances, and setup requirements Measure, mark, and scribe dimensions and reference points on materials and workpieces Select, align, and secure fixtures, cutting tools, attachments, accessories, and materials on machines including mills, lathes, jig bores, grinders, and shapers Calculate and set controls to regulate machining factors or enter commands to retrieve, input or edit computerized CNC machine control media Start and monitor machine operation, adjusting controls or media to correct malfunctions or out-of-tolerance machining Inspect and verify dimensions of finished work piece to conformance of specifications using precision measuring instruments such as micrometers, calipers, dial indicators, comparators, and gauge blocks. Verify conformance to engineering specifications and quality standards. Meet productivity expectations while consistently producing parts to customer specifications.
