Job DetailsJob Location: St. Paul, MN 55127Salary Range: $21.59 - $25.00 HourlyJob Shift: DaysJob Category: ManufacturingResponsible for operating die cutting press machines to cut out parts to a specified size and shape per documentation. Responsible for setup and changeover of various rotary die cut presses and auxiliary equipment.  Performs process adjustments within a specified operating window on press machines to produce high quality parts from various product sheets by performing the following duties. Essential Job Functions Performs machine setup and changeovers per company documentation/procedure. Efficiently operates various presses with minimal waste. Perform quality inspections per Quality Department procedures, engineering drawings, and documentation. Design/modify web path layouts for maximum efficiency and speed. Troubleshoot die-cutting, lamination, and printing issues. Update production job logs accurately and timely.  Propose and implement continuous improvement initiatives to reduce costs and maximize operational/manufacturing efficiencies across the department.  Perform preventative maintenance on equipment per engineering procedures and ensure charts or logs are up to date.  Conforms to Good Manufacturing Practices and comply with all departmental Standard Operating Procedures.  Communicate with the appropriate packaging and quality team members frequently to ensure the machine produces quality parts.  Visually checks parts at the machine for cosmetic and dimensional defects with the ability to read and interpret part print and/or drawings. Communicates with counterpart operator for oncoming/outgoing shift to exchange pertinent information regarding scheduling, processes, and part quality. Prepare and maintain manufacturing records as required by procedures.  Monitors equipment performance and initiates repair requests.  Maintains good attendance in accordance with company guidelines.  Adheres to all company health and safety policies and procedures. Assist other areas of production as needed.  Maintains cleanliness of press machines and support equipment. Assists in training of less experienced personnel. Works proactively to promote teamwork within all company levels and communicates effectively and professionally with supervisors, managers, co-workers, and vendors/guests.     Perform other duties as assigned. QualificationsEducation: High school plus job related course/certification   or equivalent training and/or experience, with focus on technical or mechanical field.             Experience:    3 -5 years' experience related to Rotary Die Cut or Continuous Web Converting Industry. Other skills and abilities required include: LANGUAGE SKILLS: Ability to read and interpret English written documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.  MATHEMATICAL SKILLS: Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide into all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent. REASONING ABILITY: Ability to solve practical problems and deal with various concrete variables. Ability to interpret multiple instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form. OTHER SKILLS and ABILITIES: Knowledge of Good Manufacturing Practices (GMPs) and basic cleanroom production. Good knowledge of press machines and associated equipment. Basic knowledge of different polymers, foils, and materials. Basic knowledge of electricity and circuits.  Basic computer skills are needed. Microsoft Office Suite (e.g., Excel, Word, Outlook) Basic understanding of quality methods and procedures. Basic use and understanding of rulers, calipers, eye loops, and other inspection equipment. Physical/Mental Requirements Physical Demands: Medium Work - Lifting of 50 pounds maximum. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to stand; walk; use hands to finger, handle, or feel objects, tools, or controls; reach with hands and arms and talk or hear. The employee frequently is required to climb or balance. The employee is occasionally required to sit and stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl.   The employee must regularly lift and/or move up to 50 pounds. This job's specific vision abilities include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.   While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly exposed to odors associated with the production process and frequently works near moving mechanical parts.  The employee must wear cleanroom gowns, rubber gloves, and hair/beard coverings.
