What is a Chemist:

The Chemist is responsible for supporting product development, formulation, and testing activities within a laboratory and manufacturing environment. This role works closely with cross-functional teams including R&D, Quality, and Production to develop new products, improve existing formulations, and troubleshoot technical issues. The Chemist plays a key role in ensuring product quality, consistency, and performance while contributing to continuous improvement initiatives.

What you can expect to do in a Chemist:

  • Conduct laboratory experiments to support product development and formulation improvements
  • Perform testing and analysis of raw materials, in-process samples, and finished products
  • Document and interpret experimental data, providing clear and actionable insights
  • Assist in scaling formulations from lab to pilot and full production
  • Troubleshoot product and process issues in both lab and plant environments
  • Collaborate with Production and Quality teams to ensure product consistency and performance
  • Maintain accurate records of formulations, test methods, and results
  • Follow all safety, environmental, and regulatory guidelines
  • Support continuous improvement efforts related to product quality and process efficiency
  • Stay current on new materials, technologies, and industry trends

What we are looking for in a Chemist:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Chemistry, Chemical Engineering, or a related field required
  • 2–5+ years of experience in a laboratory, R&D, or manufacturing environment preferred
  • Experience with resins, gel coats, polymers, or composite materials preferred
  • Strong understanding of basic chemical principles and laboratory techniques
  • Strong understanding of lab safety
  • Ability to analyze data and draw meaningful conclusions
  • Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
  • Effective communication and teamwork abilities
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks and priorities in a fast-paced environment
