The Electrician is responsible for installing, maintaining, troubleshooting, and repairing electrical systems and components in accordance with applicable codes, standards, and safety regulations. This role requires strong technical knowledge, attention to detail, and the ability to work independently or as part of a team to complete electrical installations and service work.

Seeking: Electrician Class A licensed MN journeyman. 

ESSENTIAL JOB DUTIES: 

  • Install, maintain, and repair electrical wiring, equipment, and fixtures.
  • Ensure work is completed in accordance with local, state, and national electrical codes.
  • Read and interpret blueprints, schematics, and technical drawings.
  • Troubleshoot electrical systems and diagnose issues using testing devices.
  • Install electrical components such as panels, circuit breakers, switches, and lighting systems.
  • Perform preventative maintenance on electrical systems and equipment.
  • Maintain tools, equipment, and a safe work environment.
  • Collaborate with project managers, supervisors, and other trades to ensure project completion.
  • Document work completed and report any issues or safety concerns.
  • Follow all company safety policies and OSHA regulations.
  • Understand and follow SFP’s Safety program, SDS book, Hazardous communication program, policies and procedures.  Participate in weekly Toolbox talks.  Employee must know where all related safety documentation is at all times on each project. 
  • Other duties may be assigned.

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Must have a current MN license.
  • Good driving record. 
  • Experience in multi-family housing.
  • Able to troubleshoot and repair.
  • Commercial and residential (apartments)
     

The qualifications listed below are representative of the elements required to perform the job successfully, however in some cases, an equivalent combination of Education, Training, Certifications and Experience may meet the job qualifications. 

Education, Training, Certifications: 

  • High School Diploma or equivalent, required. 
  • Valid Electrician License (Journeyman or Master depending on state requirements) preferred or required.

Experience, Knowledge, Skill Requirements:

  • 3+ years of electrical installation and service experience preferred.
  • Strong knowledge of electrical systems, wiring, and troubleshooting methods.
  • Ability to read electrical schematics and blueprints
  • Time management and organization
  • Ability to work independently and on a team

Communication Skills:

  • Must have the ability to effectively read, write and communicate in English with employees and customers. 

Systems and Software Skills:

  • Ability to safely use common power and hand tools.

Other Qualifications:

  • Valid driver’s license with acceptable driving record required. 
  • Must be able to comply with SFP’s Drug and Alcohol policy and Background screening requirements, which may also include customer specific requirements based on contractual agreement.

Physical Requirements:

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is required to sit and stand for long periods, see in color, close and far distances, peripheral, depth, and adjust focus.  Employee will occasionally be required to bend, kneel, balance, lift <20lb, walk, stand, ascend/descend stairs, reach above and below shoulders, stoop, twist, and climb a step stool.   

Work Environment:

Employee will consistently be required to work indoors in an office or remote setting, work alone and with others. Employees will occasionally be required to work outside. Employee will be occasionally wear appropriate personal protective equipment, as required by company safety policies.
