Job responsibilities include:
- Implement educational and recreational activities planned by Site Supervisors and Group Leaders.
- Provide appropriate behavior guidance and disciplinary action as needed.
- Develop supportive relationships with Discovery Club students and families.
- Build community and establish a welcoming, engaging, respectful, cooperative environment.
- Teach and model social skills, personal responsibility, problem-solving, respect, and related skills.Ā
- Carry out appropriate health and safety procedures and all district policies.
- Provide accommodations for children with special needs and modify activities as needed to ensure respectful inclusion.
- Competitive hourly pay starting at $18/hour.
- Eligibility for a stipend through the Great Start Compensation Grant offered by the Department of Human Services.
- Full benefits including: Medical, Dental, Vision, and PTO.
- Monday through Friday, 7:15 - 9:15 or 1:30 - 5:30 pm.
- Must be available on non-school days and in the summer.
- No weekends.
- H.S diploma or equivalent.
- Some experience working with children.
- Ability to effectively communicate orally and in writing.
- Ability to work effectively with children and their parents/guardians and work cooperatively with school staff.Ā
