Job Description
Bethel University invites applications for a full-time, tenure-track faculty position in the Department of Mathematics and Computer Science.
What you'll do
- Teach the equivalent of a full six-course load per year, in-person (not remote), in the field of Computer Science, likely including some combination of the following: Operating Systems, Computer Architecture, Networking, Computer Security, Artificial Intelligence, Data Mining and Machine Learning, and introductory-level programming for majors and non-majors
- Serve as a mentor and advisor for student researchers
- Develop an active research agenda, or engage in consulting work, and stay up to date with developments in the field
- Fulfill ordinary faculty responsibilities, including undergraduate student advising, university committee assignments, and involvement in departmental programming
- Contribute to an academic environment that seeks to advance inclusive excellence in the department and the discipline
Qualifications
Skills: Strong teaching skills. Ability to collaborate with colleagues and work as part of a team.
Experience: College teaching experience preferred
Education: PhD in Computer Science preferred; but candidates with PhD in Mathematics with substantial computing background, or with MS and significant industry experience, will also be considered.

Compensation
Salary and rank are commensurate with qualifications, education, and experience. Typical salary for Assistant Professor $55,599 - $70,043, Associate Professor $62,927 - $84,168, Full Professor $77,265 - $95,904 for 24 Load Credits a year.
