Dentists working at Open Cities may be eligible for loan repayment through the National Health Service Corp. Â Â

DUTIES PERFORMED:
- Assists the Dental Director in developing guidelines for dental treatment and priorities for dental care at OCHC.Â
- Examines, diagnoses, and establishes treatment plans for patients. Â
- Provides dental treatments and/or refers patients to the appropriate agency or professional individual when indicated.
- Provides emergency services to patients as needed. Â
- Performs other clinical duties as assigned by the Dental Director.
- Performs quality assurance audits and peer reviews as assigned.
- Provides dental education to clinic clients in individual or group settings.
- Maintains accurate and complete patient records within the EMR and closes out accounts according to clinic standards.Â
- Provide direction to the assigned dental assistant and work closely with the assigned dental hygienist to provide effective team-based patient care.
- Provides clinical supervision to Dental Therapist(s).Â
- Shares on-call duties for the dental department.
- Participates in staff and clinic meetings.Â

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
- Graduation from an accredited dental school with a D.D.S., D.M.D., or equivalent degree.
- Current licensure to practice dentistry in Minnesota.Â
- Ongoing BLS certification.Â
- Strong communication skills (oral and written) and interactive personal relational skills.
- Demonstrated ability to work with people from diverse backgrounds, cultures, and beliefs. Â

DESIRED QUALIFICATIONS:Â
- Experience working in an FQHC or with underserved patients. Â
- Fluency in Somali, Spanish, or Hmong. Â
- Residency training. Â
- Experience and expertise in endodontics or pediatric dental care. Â
