Job Summary
Maintaining cleanliness and sanitation for dishware, tableware, cooking utensils, etc., using machines and manual cleaning methods. The position also ensures the dishwashing area is maintained as a clean, safe, and sanitary facility.Â
Principle Duties and Responsibilities.
- Sort and rinse dirty dishes, glasses, tableware, and other cooking utensils and place them in racks to send through dish machine.
- Sort and stack clean dishes.Â
- Carry clean dishes to cook’s line and other proper storage areas.Â
- Scrub pots, pans, and trays by hand before sending them through the dishwasher.
- Remove trash and garbage to dumpster.
- Set up and break down dishwashing area.
- Clean and roll and unroll mats.
- Fill and empty soak tubs with cleaning or sanitizing solutions.
- Sweep and mop floors.
- Wipe up any spills to ensure kitchen floors remain dry.
- Notify manager anytime dish machine or rinse cycle falls below safety standards and temperature.
Knowledge, Skill, & Abilities
- Fill in other areas of kitchen responsibilities if needed.
- Knowledge of standards of food preparations and serving, storage of food and kitchen procedures.
- Professional communication skills required.
- Ability to take direction.
- Ability to work in a team environment.
- Ability to work in a fast, efficiently and stay focused under pressure.
- Ability to work weekends, holidays, mornings, and nights.
- Ability to perform light physical tasks, exerting up to 25lbs of force on occasion.    Â
