Capitol View Transitional Care Center is a state-of-the-art true transitional care unit (TCU) located in Regions Hospital (we are part of the HealthPartners organization as a separate nonprofit organization.) We provide quality care to patients from 18+ years of age who are in need of a short-term stay. Our average length of stay is 17 days. As an Occupational Therapy Assistant, you will be responsible for the following job duties and responsibilities:
• Assists Occupational Therapist in administering occupational therapy for patients.
• Assists in planning and implementing programs established by the Occupational Therapist designed to restore, reinforce, and enhance task performances, diminish, or correct pathology and to promote and maintain health and self-sufficiency.
• Assists in evaluation of patients ADL’s and capacities to determine extent of abilities and limitations.
• Assists in instructing patient and families in home programs as well as care and use of adaptive equipment.
• Fabricates splints and other assistive devices.
• Assists in the maintenance of equipment.
• May be responsible for maintaining observed information in patient records and preparing reports.
• Performs other duties as assigned.
 
FTE/ work schedule : per diem
 
Required Qualifications:
• Completion of and certification from a two-year accredited training program
• Licensed by the State of MN as a COTA
• Completion of required annual educational courses to maintain license with the Board of Occupational Therapy
