About the role
- Assist students on course content and effective study skills to learn course material. Student tutors meet regularly with individuals, pairs or groups of students. Tutors generally work with students two hours a week and can be flexibly scheduled between the tutor and tutee.
Qualifications
- Must have previously taken the course(s) at Bethel for which they are tutoring and received an A/A-. Student tutors may also be currently taking the course and receiving an A/A- course grade. Must have unique knowledge and background in the subject to answer the student’s questions.Â
- Good communication skills including prompt responses to e-mail requests.
- Must be responsible and dependable.
- Tutor training is required.
- Must be a current student at Bethel University
Work Environment:
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is primarily in a controlled, temperate environment, typically a classroom or study space on campus.

Physical Demands:
Ability to meet with a student up to 2 hours in length. Students can sit, walk and move around in those sessions. Reasonable accommodations may be made to ensure people are able to perform the essential functions.

Expected Hours of Work:
Students will typically work between 2 and 10 hours per week, depending on the number of individual tutoring link-ups they accept or lab/help session shifts they are assigned. Student Employees may not work over 20 hours per week during the school year (including all Bethel jobs).
