The Impact You’ll Make in this Role
This leader will be responsible for multiple data science projects of large scope and impact that create novel algorithms, gather, transform, and integrate large volumes of data, perform analysis, interpret results and develop actionable insights and recommendations for use across the company. Act as internal advisor and expert; champion long-range designs for advanced analytics projects and innovations. Serve as a strategic advisor to top/executive management.

Technical Contributions 

  • Apply expert level and complex data science techniques to develop rich insights that enable informed data-driven strategies that have significant impact.

  • Develop algorithms, statistical models, and machine learning applications that generate customer, product, market and manufacturing capabilities.

  • Integrate complex data from multiple internal and external sources to create models using internal and cloud data science capabilities.

  • Use programming languages and data science and statistical packages/tools/algorithms to translate algorithms and technical specifications into business solutions.

  • Work with cloud computing and AI frameworks, data analysis systems, and modeling environments.

  • Actively employ external data sources to improve current and potential models, following all data compliance policies and data use standards.

  • Create visual representation and derive business insights generated from the data analysis.

  • Track record of building innovative products.

2.   Strategic Planning

  • Contribute to, support, and guide the technical and business strategic planning process.

3. Intellectual Property/Leadership 

  • Mentor other data scientists/data engineers. 

How you will make an impact

  • Serve as the primary liaison between engineering, product, and business teams to align priorities and manage communication.

  • Collaborate with product owners, scrum masters, and business leaders to maximize backlog value and deliver high-impact solutions for supply chain business teams.

  • Provide executive-level reporting on program status, KPIs, and progress across PLAN, SOURCE, MAKE, and DELIVER.

  • Coordinate cross-functional teams, manage dependencies (DART, MDM, GPLs, Digitalization), and optimize resources.

  • Identify and mitigate technical and delivery risks; lead recovery plans for failing programs.

  • Ensure initiatives are delivered on time, within budget, and aligned with business objectives.

  • May also serve as project manager for large technical initiatives.

Your Skills and Expertise 
 

To set you up for success in this role from day one, Solventum requires (at a minimum) the following qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree or higher with a minimum of 8 years of experience in Algorithm Development or Software Engineering in Machine Learning, Statistics, or Numerical Methods

Or

  • Master’s Degree with a minimum of 5 years of experience in Algorithm Development or Software Engineering in Machine Learning, Statistics, or Numerical Methods

Additional qualifications that could help you succeed even further in this role include:

  • Extensive industry experience in deep learning, machine learning, natural language processing, data science, computer vision, artificial intelligence, statistics, and/or applied mathematics.

  • 8 years of working with supply chains and understanding of supply chain data and processes.

Work location:

  • Hybrid

Travel: May include up to [10%][domestic and/or international]
