Hood Packaging is currently recruiting a Quality Technician for our Arden Hills, MN plant.  The Quality Technician will be responsible for assisting in the planning, organizing and executing company-wide quality control. To provide technical assistance to Manufacturing Plant operations in process improvement, cost reduction, safety enhancement, and efficiency. Support all SQF, GMP and product safety guidelines and procedures.

Functional Responsibilities

•    Implementing and maintaining activities/processes aimed at improving our processes with the assistance of the Plant/Office people, Supervisors and Manufacturing Manager.

•    Aid in implementing and maintaining the Hood Packaging Quality Management system.  Working with the production floor and the management team to maintain SQF Certification.

•    Conduct quality tests, as required, and document results.  

•    On the floor monitoring – assist production associates with discrepancies, general process questions, review quality monitors for completeness and correctness and assist in on the spot situations.

•    Assist the Manufacturing Manager in organization of all records required to show the conformance of product to requirements.

•    Coordinate RMA’s with customers.  Weigh and count returned goods.  Maintain Internal Complaint log including dollar value and associate who produced defective product.  In order to assign corrective action to the appropriate supervisor.   Assist with disposition of nonconforming materials and assist with rework re-inspections.

•    Under the direction of the Region Quality Manager, assist with maintaining Corrective Action Program, which includes monitoring and follow up of CAR assignments.

•    Assist Supervisors with training production associates in conducting required tests or completing quality forms.

•    Assist in team problem solving projects, under the direction of the Region Quality Manager.


Qualifications

•    College degree or high school diploma/GED.

•    Quality and manufacturing experience helpful.

Skills

•    Familiar with the packaging process as it relates to fulfilling customer requirements from a quality perspective.

•    Strong analytical skills and high attention to detail. 

•    Strong understanding of product structures and customer requirements.

•    Able to communicate effectively both verbally and in writing.

•    Works cooperatively with others, promoting a team environment.
