Job Summary
The Shipping Lead coordinates daily shipping and receiving operations while serving as the working leader of theÂ
warehouse team. This role assigns work, monitors workflow, ensures safety, quality, inventory accuracy, and on
time shipments, and partners with Production, Customer Service, and carriers to meet business objectives.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities
• Lead daily shipping, receiving, staging, and warehouse operations.
• Assign and prioritize work based on production schedules, carrier deadlines, and staffing.
• Monitor dock activity, manage Conduit dock appointments, and adjust resources to meet shippingÂ
commitments.
• Perform and oversee loading, unloading, trailer inspections, and DOT-compliant load securement.
• Operate forklifts and other powered industrial equipment safely.
• Ensure accuracy of Bills of Lading, pick sheets, packing lists, receiving documents, and inventoryÂ
transactions.
• Investigate inventory discrepancies, shipping errors, and damaged freight; implement corrective actions.
• Lead daily shift meetings, weekly safety huddles, and company safety standdowns.
• Train and coach associates on SOPs, equipment operation, safety, and warehouse processes.
• Monitor performance and report to the Plant Manager needs for coaching and corrective actions.
• Maintain warehouse safety, PPE compliance, forklift inspections, and 5S housekeeping standards.
• Coordinate daily with Production, Customer Service, and carriers regarding priorities and issues.
• Track KPIs including on-time shipping, inventory accuracy, receiving performance, and damage rates.
• Lead continuous improvement initiatives to improve safety, efficiency, and material flow.
• Perform other duties as assigned

Education Requirement/Work Experience
• High School Diploma or GED required.
• 3–5 years of warehouse/shipping experience in manufacturing.
• Previous lead or supervisory experience preferred.
• Valid driver's license required; CDL if required by facility.
• Forklift certification or ability to obtain certification.
• Strong leadership, communication, organization, problem-solving, and inventory control skills

The employee must frequently lift and carry up to 40 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job includeÂ
close vision and must be able to read production tags, labels, inspect parts, and navigate production aisleways.Â
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to sit; use hands to finger, handle, orÂ
feel and talk or hear. The employee is frequently required to stand and walk and required to reach with hands andÂ
arms and stoop/crouch, bend or twist. The employee is occasionally required to push, pull, and/or move materialÂ
and work in awkward positions, such as underneath equipment, or working around machines in operationsÂ
area. The employee must be able to work from ladders/platforms as needed, safely operate a forklift, andÂ
communicate (verbally and visually) with pedestrians. The employee must be able to inspect the forklift asÂ
required and communicate issues. Must have the ability to provide clear explanation and direction on issues andÂ
resolutions. Must be able to apply critical thinking to perform problem solving for complex tasks, includingÂ
recognizing hazards and mitigating risk.

have wet or damp conditions.Â
