The Test Engineer is responsible for the design, development, implementation, and support of test solutions used in the production of electronic assemblies and systems. This role works closely with manufacturing, quality, and design engineering teams to ensure products meet performance, reliability, and customer requirements while driving yield improvement and operational efficiency.Â

Key ResponsibilitiesÂ
1. Test Development & ImplementationÂ
Design, develop, and maintain test hardware, software, and procedures for PCBAs and finished electronic productsÂ
Define test strategies including ICT, FVT, AOI, AXI, and system-level testingÂ
Develop and validate test programs using platforms such as LabVIEW, TestStand, or other ATE systemsÂ
Support NPI builds by creating test plans and ensuring readiness for production scalingÂ
Ensure test coverage, repeatability, and compliance with customer and regulatory requirementsÂ
Â
2. Production Support & TroubleshootingÂ
Provide direct support to manufacturing lines to minimize downtime and improve throughputÂ
Perform root cause analysis on test failures and yield issuesÂ
Troubleshoot test equipment, fixtures, and product failures (hardware/software)Â
Drive corrective actions using structured problem-solving methods (8D, QRQC)Â
Reduce false failures and intermittent issues impacting production
Â
3. Data Analysis & Yield ImprovementÂ
Analyze test data to identify trends, failure modes, and systemic issuesÂ
Drive yield improvement initiatives and reduce scrap/reworkÂ
Generate reports and dashboards to communicate test performance and KPIsÂ
Partner with cross-functional teams to improve product design for testability (DFT)Â
Â
4. Test Equipment & Fixture EngineeringÂ
Design or support development of test fixtures, interfaces, and automation solutionsÂ
Oversee installation, qualification, and calibration of test equipmentÂ
Improve uptime, reliability, and performance of testers on the production floorÂ
Collaborate with vendors and internal teams on new test technologiesÂ
Â
5. Continuous Improvement & Manufacturing IntegrationÂ
Drive initiatives to improve OEE, FPY, and cycle timeÂ
Support cost reduction through test optimization and automationÂ
Participate in lean manufacturing and process improvement activitiesÂ
Ensure smooth transition from engineering builds to mass productionÂ
Â
6. Documentation & ComplianceÂ
Develop and maintain test procedures, specifications, and work instructionsÂ
Ensure compliance with ISO, customer, and Jabil internal standardsÂ
Support audits and maintain proper documentation for traceabilityÂ
Adhere to all safety, ESD, and environmental requirementsÂ

QualificationsÂ
Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Electronics Engineering, or related fieldÂ
1+ years of experience in test engineering within an electronics manufacturing environment preferred
Strong knowledge of:Â Analog and digital circuits, PCBAs and electronic system testing preferred.
Test instrumentation (oscilloscope, DMM, logic analyzer)Â
Experience troubleshooting hardware and test systemsÂ
Â

Experience with Automated Test Equipment (ATE) and scripting (LabVIEW, Python, TestStand) Â
Familiarity with ICT, FVT, AOI, and manufacturing test processes (Keysight, Vitrox, KohYoungÂ
Knowledge of MES systems and data integrationÂ
Experience in high-mix, high-volume manufacturingÂ
Understanding of DFT (Design for Testability) principlesÂ
