SUMMARY:  

Fit/weld and finish custom parts/products to meet customer specifications. Be a self-starter and organize project work flow in their area. 

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Analyze project to determine course of action and apply appropriate welding techniques.
• Fit and Weld various types of metal to include but not limited to Steel, Stainless steel and Aluminum. 
• Clamping, holding, tack-welding, bolting, or grinding parts as necessary.
• Inspecting finish products to Blueprints to insure all specifications are met.
• Communicate with various levels in the organization.
• Operating safety working equipment and applying safety practices at work while performing his/her duties.

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES: None

Requirements

QUALIFICATIONS:

• High School diploma or GED required
• Trade school, technical school, or military education preferred
• Minimum of 5 years of welding experience required
• Must be able to set up jobs on your own
• Must be able to read and comprehend blueprints 
• Must understand and be able to hold close tolerances

SKILLS AND ABILITIES:

• Mig, Tig Welding of Steel, Stainless Steel and Aluminum
• Blueprint interpretation
• Excellent verbal communication skills
• Attention to Detail
• Good judgment 

WORK ENVIRONMENT and PHYSICAL DEMANDS:

• The normal work environment is typical of a machine shop with many moving parts, and is typically noisy.
• While performing the regular duties of the position, the incumbent will be exposed to moving mechanical parts and risk of electrical shock. 
• Ability to stand for prolonged periods of time
• Ability to lift up to 35-50 pounds; over 50 pounds with assistance
• Safety Steel toed shoes are required.
• Ear plugs, gloves, back braces, safety glasses are provided by the company.
