Job Description Summary

We are hiring a Monitoring Engineer who is passionate about observability, automation, and platform reliability. In this role, you will support and evolve our enterprise monitoring ecosystem using tools like Dynatrace, Datadog, SevOne, Splunk, and Oracle Enterprise Manager. You will play a central role in onboarding new applications, improving instrumentation, reducing operational toil, and helping teams resolve issues faster through better visibility and insights.

This position follows our hybrid workstyle policy: Expected to be in a Raymond James office location a minimum of 10-12 days a month.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Administer and enhance enterprise monitoring platforms including Dynatrace, Datadog, SevOne, Splunk, and Oracle Enterprise Manager

  • Partner with IT Architecture and application owners to define monitoring requirements and onboard new services

  • Lead platform upgrades, feature rollouts, and configuration improvements

  • Build automated monitoring setups and standardized instrumentation

  • Create dashboards and visualizations that give teams clear, actionable insights

  • Improve alert quality, reduce noise, and strengthen triage processes

  • Train internal teams on monitoring tools, best practices, and new capabilities

  • Support daily operational tasks and platform health checks

Required Skills:

  • Hands-on experience with Dynatrace, Datadog, Splunk, or similar enterprise monitoring tools

  • Strong understanding of observability concepts including metrics, logs, traces, APM, and synthetic monitoring

  • Experience designing dashboards, tuning alerts, and onboarding complex applications

  • Ability to automate processes using scripting or configuration tools

  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to interpret monitoring data

  • Excellent communication skills and experience working across multiple technical teams

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience supporting large, distributed, or hybrid enterprise environments

  • Familiarity with cloud platforms such as AWS or Azure

  • Background with auto-remediation workflows, AIOps concepts, or event correlation tools

  • Knowledge of ITIL processes or operational support environments
