Admissions Specialist II

to join our growing treatment team!

 

Primary Purpose

Facilitates timely access into services for individuals seeking treatment by performing registration, symptoms screening and assessments. Additionally, this position builds an alliance with clients by providing education, and motivation to support them in making positive changes in their life, and reducing the negative consequences associated with substance use and abuse. Completes screenings and completes Referrals to Admit into Detox, Residential, and Outpatient supports. Centralized intake will also incorporate Trauma Informed Care principles, promoting safety, trust, collaboration, and respect throughout the engagement process, to ensure the continuum of care and access the appropriate services, with the no wrong door approach.

Performs client registrations. Facilitates timely access into services for individuals seeking treatment by performing registration and symptoms screening and assessments.

 

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

      Screens clients for eligibility for optional programs.
      Performs client registrations. Processes paperwork for new clients efficiently and          in accordance with BCH policies and procedures.
      Conducts ASAM assessments to include DSM diagnoses and initial level of care          placement.
      Facilitates appropriate assignment to primary counselor caseloads for new clients.
      Completes MOTS forms, ROI as needed.
      Completes payment authorization for Medicaid clients using CIM (Clinical                      Integration Manager).
      Works with Finance for other insurance authorizations
      Works with various insurances to re-Auth continued stay at Residential
      Assists clients with Medicaid (Oregon Health Plan) enrollment process. (refers to          OHP assisters)
      Completes client enrollment process by entering new or returning client                          demographic, payer and program information into client database.
      Prepares written correspondence in accordance with confidentiality requirements          for purposes of communicating with referral sources, court representatives, clients        and other community contacts.
      Engages in coordination of care, initiates requests for records. Ie. Insurance                  verification, Authorization, and continued care recommendations to all appropriate        agencies and or BW departments for entry into appropriate LOC.
      Completes and maintains timely and accurate documentation including group                notes, individual notes, status reports, as well as documenting other contacts                made concerning the clients need to treatment and or compliance.
      Monitors random urinalysis testing.
      Answers inquiry calls and emails from prospective clients, changes and updates            scheduled appt, DNS, CBC, and reschedules accordingly.
      Provides general assistance by answering inquiries for the general public, clients,          and outside agencies about BCH programs and services.
      Maintains good professional relationships with all customers for all internal and              external activities and provides accurate information for all processes and                      schedules all assessment appointments, and or addendums for LOC changes and        or admits to next program.
      Acts as a liaison for clients, personnel, and referral sources.
      Works with Residential programs, completing referrals and faxing appropriate                assessments for admits.

Other Duties and Responsibilities

      Provides back-up to front desk as client reception support.
      Attends staff meetings and contributes as a team member to identify and                        implement quality services.
      Coordinates and maintains a working relationship with all referral sources. IE,                MMW, Medical, Admin, Outpatient, and other community stakeholders.
      Performs other duties as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications and Experience 

Experience, Education and Credentials

      At least obtained a high school diploma or equivalent.
      CADC and at least one year conducting SUD assessments, with demonstrated              knowledge of ASAM and DSM 5 diagnostics.
      QMHA through MHACBO.
      Must at least have one year experience working in a behavioral health setting.
      Must at least have two years of increasingly responsible experience in an office            environment.
      Qualified candidates must be able to pass a DHS criminal background check.
      Good understanding of Stages of Change – supporting clients in Goals with plans        to engage in all aspects of treatment.

 

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

      Excellent interpersonal communication skills and strong computer and time                    management skills.
      Ability to complete clinical documentation efficiently and to federal, state, and                agency standards.
      Advanced understanding of record retention, confidentiality and HIPAA                          requirements.
      Familiarity with ASAM PPC-2.
      Intermediate understanding of Oregon Administrative Rules.
      Qualified candidate must be able to pass a DHS criminal background check.

Compensation

      Will depend on experience and credentials.
      An additional stipend is available for Spanish/English bilingual employees
