About the Role:

The Practice Manager plays a pivotal role in overseeing the daily operations of a healthcare practice to ensure efficient, high-quality patient care and smooth administrative functioning. This position requires a blend of clinical expertise and management skills to lead nursing and clinical support staff, coordinate patient services, and implement policies that enhance practice performance. The Practice Manager will be responsible for managing budgets, staffing, and compliance with healthcare regulations, while fostering a collaborative environment among multidisciplinary teams. By analyzing workflow and patient care processes, the manager will identify opportunities for improvement and drive initiatives that optimize operational efficiency. Ultimately, this role ensures that the practice delivers exceptional care while maintaining financial and regulatory standards.

The Practice Manager utilizes clinical knowledge daily to understand patient care needs and guide nursing staff effectively. Strong leadership and communication skills are essential for coordinating between clinical teams, administrative personnel, and external stakeholders to ensure seamless operations. Analytical skills are applied to monitor performance metrics, identify inefficiencies, and implement process improvements that enhance patient outcomes and operational productivity. Financial acumen is used to manage budgets, control costs, and allocate resources wisely to maintain the practice’s fiscal health. Additionally, proficiency with healthcare technology, including EHR systems, supports data-driven decision-making and compliance with regulatory requirements.


Minimum Qualifications:

  • Current and valid Registered Nurse (RN) license in the United States.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Nursing, Healthcare Administration, or a related field.
  • Minimum of 3 years of clinical nursing experience in an outpatient or ambulatory care setting.
  • At least 2 years of experience in a supervisory or management role within a healthcare environment.
  • Experience with electronic health record (EHR) systems and healthcare IT implementations.
  • Strong knowledge of healthcare regulations, compliance standards, and quality assurance processes.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Master’s degree in Nursing, Healthcare Administration, or Business Administration.
  • Certification in Practice Management or Healthcare Management (e.g., AAPC Certified Practice Manager).
  • Demonstrated success in management and operational oversight in a clinical setting.
  • Proven ability to lead multidisciplinary teams and manage change effectively.

Responsibilities:

  • Lead and supervise clinical support, nursing and administrative staff to maintain high standards of patient care and service delivery.
  • Manage daily operations including scheduling, resource allocation, and patient flow to maximize efficiency.
  • Develop and implement policies and procedures that comply with healthcare regulations and promote best practices.
  • Oversee budgeting, financial reporting, and cost control measures to ensure the practice operates within financial targets.
  • Coordinate with physicians, APPs, and other healthcare professionals to facilitate communication and collaborative care.
  • Monitor quality assurance metrics and patient satisfaction data to identify areas for improvement.
  • Handle recruitment, training, and performance evaluations of clinical and support staff.
  • Ensure compliance with all federal, state, and local healthcare laws and accreditation standards.
  • Serve as a liaison between the practice, patients, insurance providers, and external vendors.
  • Lead initiatives to implement new technologies and electronic health record systems to enhance practice efficiency.
