Neighborly Communities is seeking a part time Community Host to join our team at Koz on State!

General Description

The Community Host supports the resident experience across assigned Neighborly Communities properties by fostering connection, engagement, and a welcoming community environment. This role focuses on resident interaction, event support, and visible on-site presence that enhances community culture and supports on-site teams.

The Community Host may float between multiple communities based on operational needs and works under the direction of the Community Manager, with functional oversight from the Regional Director of Operations.

Supervisory Responsibilities

This position has no supervisory responsibilities.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

This job description is designed to provide a general overview of the expected responsibilities. Additional duties may be assigned as required to support the success of the community and the company’s objectives.

  • Serve as a welcoming, professional, and approachable on-site presence for residents
  • Engage residents through informal interactions that promote connection and belonging
  • Assist with the planning, setup, execution, and breakdown of resident events and activities
  • Support event logistics, including sign-ins, materials, food setup, and dĂ©cor
  • Encourage resident participation and engagement during community events
  • Assist with move-in welcomes and community milestones as directed
  • Support the distribution of community communications, flyers, or event notices
  • Help maintain the appearance of shared community spaces during events (light straightening only)
  • Communicate resident feedback, questions, or observations to the Community Manager
  • Escalate concerns appropriately and maintain professionalism and confidentiality at all times
  • Maintain regular and reliable on-site/in-office attendance according to the attendance policy outlined in the personnel manual

  • Perform any other related duties as assigned by management

Education and Experience

  • High school diploma or equivalent required
  • Prior customer service, hospitality, retail, or community-facing experience preferred

Certificates, Licenses, Registrations

  • Fair Housing certification.

Physical Demands and Work Environment

  • Continually required to communicate verbally and hear.
  • Frequent travel to assigned communities is required, typically using a personal vehicle.
  • Frequently required to travel to sister properties and other Neighborly functions, typically using a personal vehicle.
  • Frequently required to attend and actively participate in scheduled in-person meetings and training sessions, typically using a personal vehicle.
  • Frequently required to communicate effectively with individuals and groups in a variety of settings.
  • Frequently required to apply critical thinking, judgment, and problem-solving skills for extended periods.

  • Frequently required to utilize hand and finger dexterity.
