Job DetailsLevel: EntryJob Location: Camp Otter - Salem, NH 03079Position Type: SeasonalSalary Range: $17.00 - $17.00 HourlyJob Shift: DayGeneral Function:    The Office Manager, under the supervision of the Camp Director, provides safe, motivational and knowledgeable leadership to the camp staff and campers. The Office Manager is responsible for managing the varied office duties related to camp’s operation. This includes tasks in clerical, data management, communication, financial management and recordkeeping, administrative assistance, and office equipment and supplies.  OUR CULTURE:    Our mission and core values are brought to life by our culture. Per our commitment to a safe environment and youth protection, you must attend required CAP and Safety/Risk Management Trainings each year.  Essential Functions:  1. Create and foster an atmosphere of friendliness and hospitality in the main camp office to ensure an enjoyable experience for staff, campers, and guests.   2. Provides support to Camp Otter Director in communications with families and managing the office.   3. Perform various clerical duties including copying, typing, and data entry related to camp operation.   4. Keep office neat and orderly.  5. Manage shared computer files.   6. Generate or prepare reports, using database software and tools, as requested by other supervisory staff.   7. Serve as receptionist in the main camp otter office.   8. Manage incoming telephone calls.   9. Manage camp’s general e-mail account.   10. Manage camp records and run cabin and transportation reports   11. Manage accounts payable and receivable in cooperation with the Camp Administration Office   12. Possess mature judgement and sound decision making   13. Assures compliance with state and local regulations.  14. Facilitates communication and provides leadership. Models relationship-building skills in all interactions.   15. Maintains strong relationships and an open communication line with Camp Director and camp staff teams.   16. Relate to people in a positive but firm manner while motivating and guiding campers and staff to succeed in camp program  17. React calmly and quickly in an emergency situation in accordance with YMCA policies and procedures   18. Assists in other YMCA fund raising activities and special events.   19. May assist in other duties assigned by Camp Director.  Job Segments:  Assist Camp Director in various areas of pre-camp staff orientation.  Attend Family Night  Lead the entire camp in songs, games, and activities  Effect on End Results:  Development and delivery of quality programming that are both consistent with the goals and objectives of Camp Otter, as well as meet the needs and expectations of the camper families enrolled.  Expansion of existing programs through building on traditional camp activities, while developing new program ideas relevant to that week’s theme.  Development of quality staff and volunteers that are fully engaged in the camp and provide a safe and rich experience for all program participants.      QualificationsEducation/Know How:  Must be at least 18 years of age or older  Strong interpersonal, written, and verbal communication skills.   Detail oriented. Able to work in a fast-paced environment.  Flexible and able to handle multiple projects at the same time  Minimum of one year experience experience working in customer service or a related field.  Must have good human relations’ skills to faciliate positive relationships with community agencies, staff, volunteers, parents, members and program participants.   Must complete all required training.   Working Conditions:  A typical camp week is Monday through Friday 7:30 am to 5:15 pm  There are events (ie. Family Night) that require more than a 40 hour work week  **Physical & Mental Demands:  Ability to lift 50 lbs.  Position requires ability to walk/run around the rough terrain of Camp Otter  Able to handle all emergency sitautions that may arise
