Job Description

As a Security Officer Unarmed Credential Patrol in Salem, VA, you will serve and safeguard clients in a range of industries such as Utilities, and more. As an Unarmed Patrol Officer at a utilities location, you will monitor and patrol assigned areas, maintain a visible presence to help deter incidents, support access control activities, and communicate professionally with employees and visitors. You will contribute to a secure environment through routine patrols, timely reporting, and exceptional customer service. Pay Rate: $18.67 / Hour

Job Schedule:

What You'll Do:

• Provide customer service to employees, contractors, visitors, and/or other authorized personnel at a utility location by carrying out site-specific security-related procedures and policies.
• Respond to incidents, alarms, access concerns, and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, following established emergency response protocols.
• Conduct regular and random unarmed patrols of utility facilities, buildings, parking areas, access points, and perimeter areas to help identify and report unusual conditions.
• Monitor access to restricted areas, verify credentials as directed, and maintain accurate activity, incident, and patrol documentation.
• Report hazardous conditions, equipment concerns, policy violations, and/or suspicious activity to appropriate site contacts and Allied Universal leadership.

Minimum Requirements:

• Proof of a high school diploma or GED is required by the client.
• Customer service experience is preferred.
• Comfortability using a computer or tablet is preferred.
• Access control and badge experience is preferred.
• A guard card or license is preferred.
• Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
• Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
• Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
• Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
• A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.
