Develop and implement therapeutic individual and group activities for the clients in coordination with the Program Director and Executive Director.
- Brings in new ideas and activities to the clients we serve.
- Organizes group and community activities.
- Completes initial activity assessments on all clients.
- Provides structure, discipline, and security in meeting the needs of the clients.
- Provides individual and group activity modules for the clients.
- Serves as an adult role model and a source of feedback to the clients.
- Always supervises and monitors clients.
- Intervenes in crisis situations using the approved Mandt system.
- Contributes to the treatment plan updates monthly.
- Attends the weekly multi-disciplinary treatment team meetings.
- Schedules activities for special events such as all holidays, spring breaks and days off of school.
- Creates a quarterly meeting with each unit and staff member to collaborate on new and innovative activities.
- Manages and updates the daily schedule and ensures staff have access to the schedule.
- Ensures the recreation staff have sufficient number of groups.
- Ensures staff have all the activities equipment to ensure the schedule can be followed.
- Manages all certificates required for all the extracurricular groups including but not limited to the equine, the ropes, and the master gardening.
- Ability to work flexible hours, including early mornings, evenings, and weekends to meet the needs of the program – knowing that this is more than a 40-hour job.
- Contribute to developing new programs and improving current programs, procedures, and resources.
- Supervises the equine specialists, master gardener, and ropes course employees.
- Manages activity budget and effectively communicates budgeted needs to the Executive Director.
- Reports unusual incidents through appropriate Risk Management, clinical and safety channels.
- Implements Saint Francis Ministries policies and follows directives as required. Follows and adheres to all pertinent Saint Francis Ministries Standard Operating Procedures (SOP’s), rules, personnel policies, and procedures; related accreditation and licensure standards; and federal, state, and local rules, statutes, regulations, and all term of the contract between Saint Francis Ministries and DCF.
- Ensures clients’ rights are protected. Makes sure all clients have received their rights and maintains a signed copy in each resident file.

Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in human services or related field.
- Prefer Certified Therapeutic Recreation Specialist
- First Aid/CPR.
- Mandt
- Prefer 2 years’ experience in developing activity programming with children/adolescents.
- Must be 21 years of age.
- Must pass a physical examination, including drug screen and TB Skin Test.
- Must pass an MVR, KBI and Child Abuse and Neglect Central Registry Clearance check.
- Must have a valid driver’s license and reliable transportation.
- Lifting requirements of 50 lbs.
