Manufacturing Engineer 

Salina, KS 

Great Plains Manufacturing, a Kubota company, is seeking an experienced Manufacturing Engineer to join our team!

This is an on-site position based in Salina, KS. This position typically works Monday through Thursday from 6:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. 

Primary Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Systematically drive actions and accountability to required tasks and deliverables to the predetermined program timeline.
  • Drive multi – disciplinary groups (Production, Engineering, Purchasing, Material control, Quality, Manufacturing engineering) to meet critical milestone deadlines.
  • Document open issues, actions, owners and dates. Drive open issues to closure to accommodate company schedules.
  • Identify open issues, actions, owners and dates to review with leadership. 
  • Create and maintain detailed schedules and routinely report progress/concerns to management.
  • Manage design review process, production preparation, production trials, etc.
  • Communicate effectively and foster teamwork.
  • Follow all Great Plains and OSHA safety regulations and wear prescribed safety and protective equipment.
  • Other duties may be assigned that require other qualifications, physical demands, and/or work environment.

Preferred Skills & Qualifications: 

  • Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Engineering or Mechanical Engineering from four-year college or university; or minimum 2 years of related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience. 
  • Functional discipline or operational experience in a manufacturing setting
  • Must have solid problem-solving skills
  • Overall understanding of manufacturing timelines; project management experience is a plus
  • Strong computer skills with Microsoft Office
  • Experience in a manufacturing environment with Fabrication, Weld, Paint and Assembly production processes is helpful
  • Candidates must be authorized to work in the United States without current or future employer sponsorship; this position is not eligible for visa sponsorship (including H-1B or candidates who will require sponsorship after OPT)
