Department:

Marketing & Communications

Works under the supervision of the Director of Marketing.  As a part of the Salinas Valley Memorial Healthcare marketing team, the graphic designer will help maintain consistent brand identity and visual communication across multiple platforms. This role will report to the director of marketing, working closely with our senior graphic designer.

  • Coordinates the design, production and distribution of employee newsletters, display advertisements, brochures, community publications and other communications.
  • Provides planning, writing, design coordination and other communication services for assigned product lines, as well as for special projects, including newsletters, brochures, special events and various collateral materials.
  • Manages print projects, obtains bids, processes paperwork, obtains approvals, works within budgetary guidelines, meets deadlines, communicates process to vendors and internal healthcare system personnel.         
  • Designs, creates graphics and coordinates a copy for our in-house advertising agency and Marketing/Public Relations Department serving the healthcare system.
  • Oversees healthcare system design, prints collateral materials for affiliates as needed.
  • Executes digital and print design projects for multiple partners within the SVMHS organization (e.g. collateral, display ads, social media graphics, website graphics and patient education materials)
  • Prep imagery for web and print as needed.
  • Assist with specific projects at the direction of the senior graphic designer.
  • Helps to ensure consistent brand identity and design continuity across all materials.
  • Coordinate with outside agencies, freelancers and other service providers as needed.
  • Contribute towards optimizing department workflow and creative processes
  • Performs other duties as assigned.

Education: Bachelor’s degree required, in graphic design, public relations, communications journalism or related field preferred.

Licensure: None.

Experience: Two (2) years’ experience in a graphic design.  Proven ability to work under pressure and simultaneously manage multiple projects with short deadlines without compromising quality.   

The hourly rate for this position is $40.34 - $50.42. The range displayed on this job posting reflects the target for new hire salaries for this position.
