Responsibilities

Mission Linen Supply has immediate opportunities for Production Manager Trainees in state-of-the-art operating plants across California and Arizona. This program is designed to place high-potential new managers on a track for career opportunities in production and general management at Mission Linen Supply.

This is not a typical entry-level position. We want managers who are ready to learn our industry, understand our customer base, and lead and motivate a successful team. Industry experience is not required — we're looking for dynamic individuals with leadership potential and a strong business and customer orientation.

Why Mission Linen Supply

If you're looking for a stable industry with room to grow — not just a job, but a career path — this program is built for that. Mission Linen Supply is a family-owned, privately held company and a leading provider of linen, uniform, and facility service products across five western states. Founded in 1930 and headquartered in Santa Barbara, CA, Mission has grown from a one-man operation into an industry leader, while remaining stable, essential, and steadily growing. Industrial laundry and linen services are a recession-resistant, essential industry — hospitals, hotels, and restaurants need clean linens and uniforms regardless of the economy. That means real, ongoing opportunities for career advancement, not a static org chart.

The Opportunity

This is a fast-track, nine-month program in which you're trained by the highest-ranking operations managers in the company to lead your own production facility. In less than one year, you'll learn what most of our production and service staff take five years to learn.

After successful completion of the program, you'll move into a Production Manager position at one of our 25 facilities — and, ultimately, have the opportunity to grow into a General Manager or District Manager role if desired. Production management experience gained during this program provides a strong foundation for understanding our business and assuming a leadership role in the company. We'll pair you closely with experienced operations managers and plant teams to learn all aspects of production management.

Specific training areas include:

  • Production workflow utilizing Lean Six Sigma techniques
  • Boilers and hydraulics
  • Plant equipment
  • Production scoring methods
  • Inventory control
  • Quality control initiatives
  • Cost control

Along the way, you'll have the support of senior management, complete progress reports with our learning and development department, and participate in company-sponsored management development workshops. Upon successful completion, you'll be qualified for promotion to a management position at a Mission facility, as part of a management career track with opportunities for growth in key management positions throughout the company.

Compensation

  • Base salary: $70,304, based on education, experience, other qualifications, and location of assignment

Benefits

  • Medical, dental, and vision insurance
  • Retirement savings program
  • Paid time off (sick, holiday, vacation)

Relocation Requirement

Relocation is required. All candidates must be willing to relocate during or after training to manage their own team within the first 3 years of the program to qualify. Relocation is a required, ongoing expectation of this career path, not a one-time ask.

Qualifications

Required Skills & Qualifications

  • Four-year college degree highly desired
  • Military experience welcomed
  • Willingness to relocate after completion of the program is important for career growth
  • A strong business and customer orientation
  • Demonstrated leadership potential, intelligence, commitment, and a genuine willingness to learn
  • Education and experience that show a track record of taking initiative and following through

No industry experience is required — we're looking for leadership potential first, and we'll train you on the rest.
