Production Operator

American Soy Products– Saline, MI

Full Time Position - 40 hours per week Monday-Friday with Saturday and Sunday overtime every other weekend (Sat. 1.5x, Sun. 2x pay)

2nd Shift: 3:30 PM - 11:30 PM ($17.75 / hour with shift premium)

3rd Shift: 11:30 PM - 7:30 AM ($17.75 / hour with shift premium)

Role Summary:

Morgan Foods, Inc., a premier manufacturer of soups, beans, gravy, and broths, is seeking a Production Operator to support manufacturing operations. This is a full-time, on-site role, reporting to the Process Supervisor/Manager.

The Production Operator is responsible for executing all aspects of production, including raw material handling, batching, blending, sterilization, and sanitation processes. This role plays a critical part in ensuring product safety, quality, and operational efficiency within a regulated food manufacturing environment.

American Soy Products (ASP) – located in Saline, MI. ASP is part of Morgan Foods, Inc.

Essential Job Functions:

  • Execute all aspects of manufacturing operations, including raw material mixing, product blending, and processing
  • Perform equipment sterilization, cleaning, and sanitation in compliance with GMP, FDA, HACCP, SQF, and company standards
  • Accurately follow recipes, batch instructions, and process specifications
  • Maintain clean and organized work areas to support food safety and operational standards
  • Complete process documentation and records accurately and in a timely manner to meet regulatory and company requirements
  • Communicate effectively with filling room and line technicians to ensure efficient production flow
  • Assist with routine preventative maintenance activities as directed
  • Support inventory control, material handling, and additional sanitation tasks as needed
  • Follow all company policies, safety procedures, and work instructions

Physical Requirements:

Ability to frequently stand, walk, climb stairs/ladders, bend, twist, and reach throughout the shift. Must be able to lift up to 50 lbs. regularly. Ability to work in high temperatures and humid environments during production operations.

Environmental Requirements:

Primarily works in a manufacturing plant environment with variable temperatures and humidity levels. Occasional exposure to wet and sanitized conditions due to cleaning processes.

Communication Requirements:

  • Ability to read, understand, and follow work instructions, SOPs, and safety guidelines
  • Maintain clear and effective communication with team members and supervisors
  • Accurately complete production and compliance documentation

Education/Training/Skills/Experience/Personal Attributes:

  • High School Diploma or equivalent preferred
  • Prior manufacturing experience, preferably in food production or processing, is a plus
  • Strong math, computer, and problem-solving skills
  • Ability to learn quickly and follow detailed processes
  • Strong communication skills with legible documentation practices
  • Demonstrated ability to work independently while contributing to a team
