Description

The Laundry Assistant is responsible for the delivery of laundry and linen services for the community. You must coordinate and communicate with all housekeeping and other team members in maintaining a holistic perspective of service for each resident. Also, actively engage yourself in supporting, introducing and implementing activities that maximize each resident’s identity, abilities and interests. Assume laundry and linen responsibilities for all residences, common areas and community on a scheduled basis.  

Requirements

Launder linens including sorting, washing, folding and delivery.

Maintain laundry room/area and keep in a clean and orderly manner.

Keep a linen and laundry supplies inventory. Notifying community Environmental Services Director or Lead Housekeeper when items will need to be ordered (giving supervisor at least a two week order time).

Maintain and oversee all laundry room equipment, ensuring proper cleaning and functionality of equipment is completed daily.

Monitor and notify the Environmental Services Director or Lead Housekeeper of maintenance problems.

Comply with all government laws, regulations and all company policies regarding the cleaning and sanitizing of the facility.

Follow safe guidelines for the use of specific chemicals, must be familiar with emergency procedures if chemicals are misused.

Request additional guidance, training, and support as necessary to make your work with each resident reach their full potential for a safe, healthy and meaningful lifestyle in the Community. Participate in all required training, orientation, meetings, and programs offered by employer.

Performs other duties as assigned by supervisor or other management staff.
