The Assistant Branch Manager for The Farmers Bank of Willards is responsible for supporting the Branch Manager in the daily leadership, operational oversight, sales growth, and customer service functions of the branch. This role serves as a working leader who actively assists customers, coaches staff, ensures operational excellence, and promotes a culture of accountability, professionalism, and exceptional service.
The Assistant Branch Manager acts as the Branch Manager's designee in their absence and plays a critical role in ensuring branch goals, compliance requirements, and customer experience standards are consistently achieved. This position combines leadership responsibilities with direct customer interaction and operational support. This role is expected to model the Bank's values while developing staff, strengthening customer relationships, and contributing to the overall success of the branch.
Assistant Branch Manager Responsibilities:
Advanced Relationship Management
- Perform all Front-Line Associate, Personal Banker I & II, and Senior Banker duties.
- Serve as a trusted advisor for consumer and business customers.
- Assist customers with complex deposit solutions.
Leadership & Team Development
- Assist in leading and developing branch staff to achieve service, operational, and growth objectives.
- Foster a positive and collaborative work environment that encourages teamwork, accountability, and professional growth.
- Coach, mentor, and support employees through regular feedback and guidance.
- Assist with onboarding and training of new branch employees.
- Identify skill gaps and partner with the Branch Manager to develop training plans.
- Lead by example in professionalism, work ethic, and customer service.
- Serve as acting Branch Manager when necessary.
Customer Service Excellence
- Ensure exceptional customer service standards are maintained at all times.
- Resolve escalated customer concerns promptly, professionally, and effectively.
- Build and maintain strong customer relationships to drive retention and loyalty.
- Support business development efforts by identifying opportunities to deepen customer relationships.
- Promote customer education regarding products, digital banking services, and fraud prevention.
- Monitor customer feedback and recommend improvements to enhance the branch experience.
Sales & Business Development
- Assist in achieving branch deposit growth, referral, and relationship goals.
- Identify opportunities for cross-selling andrelationship deepeningthrough customer interactions.
- Support branch sales initiatives and promotional campaigns.
- Participate in community and business development activities as assigned.
- Coach team members on referral generation, needs-based conversations, and relationship building.
Operational Management
- Assist in coordinating daily branch operations to ensure efficiency, accuracy, and regulatory compliance.
- Monitor branch workflows and staffing levels to maintain effective service delivery.
- Assist with scheduling and staff coverage planning.
- Support branch cash management procedures and controls.
- Monitor operational reports and assist in addressing exceptions and issues.
- Assist with ATM, vault, and cash balancing oversight as required.
- Ensure branch facilities present a professional and welcoming environment.
Compliance & Risk Management
- Ensure adherence to all applicable banking regulations, policies, and procedures.
- Promote a strong culture of risk awareness and operational integrity.
- Assist with audit preparation and follow-up on corrective actions.
- Monitor branch activities for compliance with BSA/AML, OFAC, CIP, Reg CC, and other regulatory requirements.
- Escalate suspicious activity, operational concerns, and customer issues appropriately.
- Maintain confidentiality of customer and bank information.
Administrative Responsibilities
- Assist with branch reporting and performance analysis.
- Support monitoring of branch goals and key performance indicators.
- Maintain accurate records and documentation.
- Participate in branch, department, and management meetings as required.
- Assist with implementation of new products, services, and operational initiatives.
