Plant Utility Technician

Chariton Valley Broadband, LLC is looking for a full-time Plant Utility Technician to join our team. Following our mission, Keeping You Connected, Chariton Valley has provided state-of-the-art communication solutions to businesses and residents in Northeast Missouri for 70 years.

The Plant Utility Technician will be responsible for a wide range of duties in the Construction and Maintenance division. This individual will float positions within the Construction and Maintenance division based on business needs, including, but not limited to, installation, repair, and maintenance of facilities, electronics, timely completion of customer service orders, locates, splicing, and engineering duties, as well as other related duties as may be assigned from time to time.

Requirements for this position include knowledge and skill acquired through at least two years of experience in fiber repair & maintenance operations or equivalent activities, general knowledge in Wi-Fi operations and troubleshooting, specification and staking sheets, and cable records. This individual must have a good understanding of fiber-optic cable technology, as well as experience with computer operating systems to install and/or repair customer network issues, have the ability to lift up to 100 pounds, and live within 15 miles of the ILEC exchange boundary to be eligible for dispatch from home. This position will have on-call responsibilities. The selected candidate will be expected to demonstrate continued satisfactory progress in overall job knowledge, specifically in the ability to develop skill levels in accordance with industry technological advancements.
