Position Title: Business Process Specialist

Position Level:  Grade 12-14 (Variable based on experience)

The Business System Sustain Team (BSST) is looking to add a Business Process Specialist.  BSST works with both Witron and Kiwiplan applications and serves as an interface to the Business Excellence Services, PSNA Operations, and various other corporate business teams to leverage the best and most consistent performance for the company.  BSST owns the processes for: 

  • Best Practice usage and sharing them and techniques across the business
  • Continuous improvement and troubleshooting consultations
  • Results analysis
  • Training, communications, and support of BSST systems & processes
  • Reporting, audits, and score cards 
  • Deployments & conversions requiring on-site visits
  • Managing the evolution and development of the applications and related business processes
  • Coordination of new functionality and revision deployments 

This position routinely interfaces with PSNA plant personnel at multiple levels (production floor through Plant General Manager), Region General Managers, Container IT, 80/20 Transformation team, KIWIplan and Witron personnel, PSNA COE team members, Distribution Operations, PSNA Area Manufacturing Managers, and Containerboard Master and Replenishment Planners.

The work involves the ability to use Witron and/or KIWIplan tools at a high level of proficiency including:

  • KIWIplan modules
    • CSC (Corrugator Scheduling)
    • PCS (Converting Scheduling)
    • FFF (Factory Floor Feedback)
    • RSS (Roll Stock Management)
    • CASE (Continuous Automated Scheduling Environment)
    • CWR (Consolidated Waste Reporting)
    • OEE (Overall Equipment Effectiveness)
  • Witron modules
    • Customer and Item creation
    • Order Management
    • Warehouse Management
    • Shipment Planning
    • Reporting
    • Invoicing
  • Various reports and ad hoc tools, including:
    • Customer Commitment Report (CCR/WCR)
    • Unit Tracker
    • Inventory management
    • Finished goods aging and overruns
    • iPoint
  • Ability to interface for training, troubleshooting, and best practice usage of information links between Witron and KIWIplan systems and other applications. 

The successful candidate will have deep knowledge of the Kiwiplan applications used to schedule the corrugator and converting, utilizing application tools to optimize throughput, on time delivery and manage capacity as well as an understanding of Witron applications for Order Management, Inventory Management, and Shipping environments.  The work involves both a strong understanding of how the software operates as well as a deep knowledge of applying the tools in workflows and business rules management in a plant setting using strong interpersonal skills.

The ideal candidate for the position will have 5-10 years in converting plant operations, Production Scheduling, Customer Service, Shipping and/or Production, including assignments in a leadership or supervisory management role with a positive trend of performance and increasing job and/or assignment complexity.  Experience in IT or a related field would be a bonus but not required.  A bachelor’s degree or comparable experience is preferred. The key competencies for the successful candidate are as follows:

  • Strong analytical skills with excellent hands-on knowledge of Kiwiplan and/or Witron and related business processes, including the ability to perform audits and Root Cause Counter Measure (RCCM) reviews 
  • Excellent  communication, collaboration, and team work skills
  • Self-motivated and self-directed
  • Managerial courage
  • Solid  teaching, coaching, training, and presentation skills
  • Leadership aptitude and the ability to influence others to complete assignments or revise plant processes in a quality, timely manner without direct authority
  • Strong knowledge of converting plant operations including costing, box construction, order management, production processes, product and process flow, shipping, containerboard master planning, and levers for business improvement.  In addition, an understanding of the end-to-end big picture of container plant operations is required.
  • Excellent hands-on experience and knowledge of Microsoft Excel, Power Point, and Word along with the ability to use web-based training applications.
  • Ability to travel up to 75% and ability to work productively in a remote environment
