DISTRICT COURT COMMISSIONER

DEBT COLLECTION AND HOUSING ACTION DIVISION - SALT LAKE CITY

The Utah State Courts seek two experienced officials to serve as District Court Commissioners (Division Commissioner) in the newly established Debt Collection and Housing Action Division. These positions have statewide jurisdiction and will be housed within the Matheson Courthouse, located in Salt Lake City. Division Commissioners are appointed by the Judicial Council. Under the direction of the Board of District Court Judges, Division Commissioners will perform duties consistent with Utah Code 78A-5-103 (Effective 1/1/2027) pertaining to the Debt Collection and Housing Action Division of the District Court.

Successful candidates will adhere to the Code of Judicial Conduct and be a member of the Utah State Bar in good standing. The candidates must be at least 25 years of age, a citizen of the United States, a resident of Utah for three (3) years preceding appointment, and a resident of Utah while serving as Commissioner. Successful candidates must reside in the State of Utah.
