Laboratory Analyst II – POD Team

The POD (People on Demand) team at Nelson Labs offers a unique opportunity to work alongside multiple laboratory groups, gain exposure to different types of testing, and develop a broad scientific skillset.

This full-time role is ideal for someone who enjoys hands-on lab work, learning new techniques, and supporting teams where help is needed most. POD analysts work on different projects across our laboratories, giving them the opportunity to continually expand their experience while contributing to meaningful testing that supports global health.

What You’ll Do

Laboratory Analysts conduct testing under supervised conditions in accordance with established procedures. Successful analysts enjoy performing hands-on laboratory work, following written instructions carefully, and maintaining strong attention to detail.

Responsibilities may include:

  • Performing laboratory testing in accordance with established procedures and protocols
  • Supporting various laboratory departments by assisting with testing during periods of increased demand or special projects
  • Carefully documenting and recording testing data and results
  • Following quality standards, traceability procedures, and regulatory requirements
  • Communicating any unexpected results or issues to laboratory leadership
  • Learning new testing methods and laboratory workflows when supporting different teams

Education & Experience

Required

  • High School Diploma or GED

Preferred (not required)

  • Bachelor’s Degree in a Life Science field such as:
    • Microbiology
    • Biology
    • Chemistry
    • Biochemistry
    • Biotechnology
    • Or a related discipline
  • Previous laboratory experience

 

Schedule

  • 8-hour shifts unless otherwise specified
  • Shift Start Time: Between 7:00 AM – 9:00 AM (start times will vary)
  • Days: Monday through Friday

Physical Requirements

  • Sitting approximately 15% of the day
  • Standing or moving throughout the laboratory 75% of the day
  • Computer work approximately 10% of the day
  • Ability to bend, stoop, crouch, crawl, and climb when necessary
  • Ability to wear required personal protective equipment (PPE) including lab coats, gloves, and safety glasses
  • Ability to lift and/or move up to 45 pounds
