About our program:
The SafeUT app provides a way for students, parents/guardians, and educators to confidentially connect to a licensed counselor at Huntsman Mental Health Institute to address any sized crisis or concern at no cost, 24/7, 365 days a year. Users can connect with the SafeUT clinical team via real-time chat or submit school safety tips for triage and potential coordination with school administrators or law enforcement partners. Watch our video here to see how we impact lives every day with our work.
SafeUT was developed to address the concerning public health crisis of suicide being the leading cause of death for Utah youth ages 10-24. SafeUT became available to Utah’s middle and high schools in early 2016. Seeing a need to grow, SafeUT expanded its services to Utah elementary schools, higher education institutions and colleges (2018), the Utah National Guard (SafeUTNG launched in 2019), and Utah’s first responders and their families (SafeUT Frontline launched in 2020).
