This position coordinates the on-site construction engineering activities for a project. The incumbent provides the overall coordination and completion of the project through the direction of the Construction Project Superintendent. This position has no responsibility for providing patient care.

Responsibilities
- Organizes and plans projects to ensure that the job is completed in a timely and efficient manner.
- Acts as liaison to outside contractors in order to schedule and follow-up on the work to be done.
- Visits assigned project sites regularly to ensure compliance to project plans and specifications, and checks for quality of construction, safety violations, and negative air.
- Assists in the review of plans and specifications for construction and remodeling projects.
- Ensures projects comply with specifications and requirements.
- Attends plan review meetings with the architect and engineers to better understand the project and asks appropriate questions regarding construction functions.
- Performs quality control functions.
- Plans, assigns, schedules, and coordinates the daily work force on the job site.
- Instructs and trains employees in the safe operation of construction equipment and tools.
Knowledge / Skills / Abilities
- Ability to perform the essential functions of the job as outlined above.
- Ability to read and interpret blueprints, diagrams, and specifications.
- Demonstrated human relations and effective communication skills.
- Ability to use standard computer applications.
- Ability to lead the work of others.
Qualifications
Qualifications
Required
- Six (6) years of experience working in construction trade areas.
- Depending upon department of hire, a valid, State of Utah Driver's License may be required.
Qualifications (Preferred)
Preferred
- Apprenticeship or Journeyman certification in one (1) or more of the trade areas.
- Hospital construction experience.
