Position Summary
Campus tours are often one of the first interactions prospective students and their families have with Westminster University. Admissions Griffin Ambassadors play a key role in helping prospective students with imagining themselves as part of the Westminster community.
Griffin Ambassador Tour Guides lead one-hour tours of our campus as part of the Daily Visits Program, offering insight into housing, academics, and dining spaces while sharing their own Westminster experiences. This position strengthens communication and customer service skills in a professional, fast-paced environment. The ideal candidate would be available during the standard tour times (10AM, 1PM, and occasionally 4:30PM) of our Daily Visits Program, as well as has some availability to assist with events and occasional Saturday Tours.
Primary Responsibilities
- Campus Tours: Lead engaging one-hour tours for prospective students and guests, highlighting key areas of campus.
- Event Support: Assist the Admissions and Enrollment Management team during recruitment events; dates and times may vary.
- Recruitment Support:Â Assist the Admissions and Enrollment Management team with high school visits/events; dates and times may vary.
- Front Desk Assistance: Support the Enrollment Experience Coordinator with administrative duties, including by answering phones, assisting walk-ins, and transferring calls.
- Outreach Projects: Participate in interdisciplinary initiatives such as assisting with social media content creation, call campaigns, and personalized emails outreach.
- Professional Presence: Represent Westminster University with enthusiasm, knowledge, and professionalism.
- Collaboration: Work closely with the Admissions team, Enrollment Management department, and other student employees to ensure a seamlessly welcoming visitor experience.
Learning Outcomes
Student employees in this position will:
- Develop customer service and interpersonal communication skills through interactions with a variety of guests
- Gain experience using Slate (CRM) through tasks involving data clean-up projects, events, and records
- Strengthen problem-solving and critical thinking in a professional environment
- Build organizational skills through schedule management, project coordination, and team collaboration
Minimum Qualifications
- Currently enrolled as a Westminster student
- Professionalism and a strong sense of confidentiality
- Effective communication and organizational skills
