Position Summary
The Athletics Administrative Intern provides administrative, communications, and compliance support to the Athletics Department. This role offers hands-on experience in collegiate athletics operations, with opportunities to develop skills in communications, NCAA compliance, and administration.
Key Responsibilities
- Design and write a monthly athletics newsletter highlighting teams, student-athletes, and department updates
- Assist with basic NCAA compliance tasks and documentation
- Help ensure adherence to institutional, conference, and NCAA rules
- Submit overnight travel forms in accordance with Clery Act requirements
- Assist coaches with recruiting visit logistics and preparation as needed
- Manage and maintain the recruiting room to ensure it is organized, professional, and visitor-ready
- Provide administrative support for athletics staff and special projects
Qualifications
- Current undergraduate or graduate student (preferred fields: sports management, communications, business, or related area)
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- High attention to detail and organizational ability
- Ability to handle confidential information with professionalism
- Interest in collegiate athletics administration and compliance
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office
